I have looked online and it looks like lowrance makes a couple different baja models. I don't really need all the bells and whistles but want a color screen, waterproof, and the regular stuff. Does anybody have preferences, likes/dislikes you can help me with before dropping some coin?

I have yet to own a gps and don't really want to buy the wrong one and find out after the fact.

thanks for your opinions beer.gif

The baja is the most popular, but quite a few of us run the Lowrance Iway 500c and 600c, which are a solid car style GPS, large screen, color, etc, etc, with 20gb of mp3 storage for music. I feed the music into my rugged intercom. The Iway was discontinued after Lowrance got out of the auto GPS market, but there are a ton of them floating around ebay which can be had for less than $200 used.

i have a 500c and a 600c and they are great. touch screen with room to store your Mp3 audio. just make sure to use a screen protector due to the dusty condition it will be in.

i just bought three brand new 600c's off a guy on ebay for 167.50 per . thats the best deal i have ever gotten . the 500c is pretty similar and you should be able to get one for a 100 maybe a little more . ebay is a great place to get one . tim
tonyd
are you able to put in and follow waypoints like the baja 480 and 540's?
King Tim
you can by settting it to offroad mode . the default is turn by turn , but it does offroad also . you can input coordinates for places you have them . tim
