I had a Pit for years, nicest dog ever. I also open my house up to recently paroled murderers so they can get on their feet. Nicest people I've ever met, I'm going hunting with Spike (gang name, don't know his real name) tomorrow.

She is the BEST dog I have ever owned!!!! If I had to do it all over again I would choose her in a heartbeat

Mac, what would you suggest doing to stop the madness of people owning pit bulls? What exactly would you define as madness? Is madness equivalent to negligence? Are you against all people owning pit bulls in all circumstances?



CJ, since this breed brings nothing positive, what would you suggest doing with it? How would you respond to people who cite counter examples of cases where pit bulls do in fact do something positive? (CF D.O.N.E. for specific examples).

Oh come on, they only kill when threatened or when their shaking or when you take their food or dress them in funky dresses.

Not sure if this was sarcasm or not...
But your ready to enter a debate with people who have openly, on this board stated that loss of human life is an acceptable byproduct to owning a pit bull. And continued loss of life is better than restricting pit ownership. I believe the quote was " an infinite number of deaths." was the answer when asked how many deaths is acceptable. Until human life gains value to people, the madness wont stop.
And remember, its the owner not the dog who is at fault. ( so we hear) yet we dont want to put any restrictions on the owners...because loss of life is acceptable.

All the pit owners here are responsible owners. They do everything to prevent this from happening. The keep all doors and windows closed at all times and the (I assume) have chew proof fencing at their houses.

If I had to keep my dog locked up 24/7...If buy a goldfish instead

RIVERSIDE, Calif. -- A 22 year old mother was charged with felony child endangerment Tuesday after her 6-month-old son's testicles were chewed off by a friend's pit bull mix in Riverside County.

Carrie Rae McKinney, who lives in San Diego County, left her son unattended on April 3rd in a baby carrier near a pit-bull mix at her friend's home, according to police in Murrieta.

The baby had been alone for several minutes when McKinney, who was in another room, heard his screams and returned to find the child's groin area was injured and his diaper had been torn off, according to Deputy District Attorney Gerald Fineman. The baby's testicles were severed in the attack, Fineman said.

Animal control seized the dog, as well as another dog that may or may not have been involved in the attack. Both dogs were euthanized.

Prosecutors say the attack was foreseeable because the dog had previously shown an interest in the baby's diaper.

They say leaving the child alone warrants a felony charge. 'Leaving the child alone in such a dangerous situation, that exposed," Fineman said warrants the felony child endangerment charge.

McKinney has lost custody of the baby as well as her two other children.

I owned a pig that bit me once, I turned him into many meals. It's ashame I was gonna have him start watching kids for some extra cash.
