Any tips or instructions on how to put on new grips? It's a set of Tag Bars and Renthal Grips.

Banch, pour a little gas into the grip and slosh it around, pour out the gas. Then quick push it into place. It should slide right on no problem.
Now you owe me a rep point...

You can also spray some paint into the grip and it will slide on easy. When the paint drys, it acts as a glue too.

Gas will make the inside of the grip muchy, instead try a little rubbing alcohol, and follow the same process as decribed with the gas........

Damn dude! You get around. Lap Top or what?
So it loosens up the grip enough to slide on and then contracts back to stay?
This is good for one side of the bars. The other side of the bar has a thinner diameter. The grip will go on no prob. Should I just goo it up with contact glue?

yup, lap top, but don't tell anyone I get around, don't want to get a bad rep

... use the alcohol on both sides about putting glue on the smaller side, it'll be a pain in the a$$ to clean it up when you change grips again, maybe some of that contact cement that doesn't dry hard might work..........

I like to use hairspray, i just spray the inside of the grip and quickly slide it on. Works like a charm.

I use the air compressor to ake off the grips and it also helps to put thee new ones on. Just put the nozzle under the edge of the grip and blow while pushing the grip on. Thats just the clean way to do it.

It really helps if you safety wire them once they are on . . .

I use grip glue too, used to use hair spray or carb cleaner but they slipped after a while.

I used hair spray for a long time when working in a BMX shop, but I'm actually fond of WD-40 now. It'll make the grips slide on like cake, even only using a dab, and it'll actually gum up the rubber a bit to make
'em stick (gas works too, almost to a fault). 5-10 minutes later you're good to ride. Air compressors are great to remove grips, but you can only put one side on with a compressor unless you're running end plugs and no-ended grips. Even then I worry about stretching them...

I used WD40 on the left side. Real tight now. The ridgt bar is designed for a twist throttle though. Very loose. Havent tried the hairspray yet.

It's the bars that are designed for a twist.
