Just showed up to the house yesterday. I must have been a good boy because the fiberglass fairy sent me a super cool present. These things are the cure all for our rusted out tank problems. The craftsmanship is flawless and the design is great. Look how the fill neck smoothly transitions into the body. Looks much better in person. Gonna do some mock-up picks on one of my bikes so you folks can see it installed. I'll get those picks up later.

Slapped together a bike real fast so you can see the stock tank in caparison to the glass tank

Standard orange - Daytona Orange was darker.

Have you put fuel in it yet?
Not to sound bad, but you better drain that tank when it's not in use.
The chemicals in most gasoline will deteriorate the resin over time and it will eventualy leak.
Hopefully, they used a vynalester resin, and you might get a little longer use out of it.

No, havent put ant fuel in it yet and yes, they are done with vynalester resin. I was thinking about coating the inside with something like POR15 or better. That should isolate the glass for the fuel because in all reality, I'm not gonna drain the tank each time I put the bike away.

gas tank cap, what type? Looks like the inlet sits low compared to the older/newer tanks. Lets see the bottom one or two outlets? Any option for mounting an on/off pitcock onto it?

from the looks of it, you and this fairy are close laughing.gif

Or creame will work. Good, I'm glad you know how to take care of a fiberglass tank.
I stoped makeing anything that held fuel along time ago, because ther was almost 100% failure rate.

Here ya go...Single outlet (who uses reserve anyway), standard vented cap, the inlet appears to be just slightly lower than the late model tanks but well above the earlier "low style filler". It is molded with a radius so it looks lower than it really is. The fill looks much better IMHO.

You could put a tee on the spicket with a valve and a short section of tubing!

Thanks Andy! Thanks for the lead but I'm gonna coat it myself. It will be one of the last things I will do right before paint. The redo of that bike hasnt even started. The tires are obviously great for Glamis but a no go for anything else.....That's why I need a set of wheels/tires. Know anybody with a set that I could get my hands on? tongue.gif Hint Hint
