They know what a huge Vet supporter I am and emailed me the following...So if you or anyone you can think of fits this description please send them to me. This is specifically for the VET show not including parolee's Thank you and respectfuly, Sharon
Sharon,
“Pit Bulls and Parolees” is a documentary-style reality show currently filming its second season for Animal Planet. All episodes have two main elements: a rescue and an adoption. For this episode, we’ve partnered with a US Veteran’s support group, Pets 2 Vets (P2V) (http://www.pets2vets.org), an organization founded by a decorated Air Force Veteran, for our adoption. P2V pairs active duty military and veterans recovering from the stress and trauma of service, usually Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and/or Traumatic Brain Injury, with shelter animals (in this case a rescued pit bull). The purpose of this segment is to highlight the adoption of another dog from the Villalobos Rescue Center into a home with a veteran desperately in need of the help and support of a loving pet.
Ideally, we are just looking for an Active Duty service members or Veterans who live in Southern California and would like to adopt a pit-bull type of dog through the P2V program. P2V covers all adoption expenses and offers a follow up veterinary care program. Any animal adopted through the P2V program is a certified Companion Animal. Our original adopter for this segment unexpectedly had to back out, so we are currently looking for an Active Duty service member or Veteran interested in adopting and appearing on the television program.
We are trying to make this happen in the next few weeks, or early August. Check out the website, they are doing
wonderful things! And of course we want the Veteran to talk about his experiences serving overseas or with combat... So if it's someone who isn't comfortable talking about their experiences in the service or were like in
the reserves or something, it probably won't work...
Thanks again Sharon! I'll check in with you soon!
