I have the cheapo shocks on the Rhino.
Are the Yamaha sport shocks better enough to buy if had for a
good price? Or hold out for aftermarket ones?

Thanks.

save your money and go to aftermarket!

Depends how much you want to spend. Sport shocks will be around $500 used and will be a big difference over stock. After market will be around $1300 new, and might need some spring changes to make it ride they way you want it too. But once dialed, it's awesome.

The sport shocks will be an improvement, but not enough to spending the money unless it is only a few hundred. I would try to find a used set of aftermarket shocks. There should be some good prices. It will improve the ride quality, but not as much as going for a mid or long travel kit.

If you don't need the shocks right away I would save the money for a mid-travel or long travel kit. The prices on the kits have dropped and you can pick up a good kit for around $4,000.00 or less. You can even find a nice used one for cheaper. I have seen some new kits in the $3,500.00 range. It will be money well spent as the ride quality improves as well as the overall stability. Going with a long travel kit makes the driving experience much better.

I am sure one of the vendors on here will hook you up with a great price.

I went thru the same thing...but I opted to wait for a good set of used Kings...I picked them up at the time for $1100...I know now you can find them used for around $800, but it is still the best thing you will do to your rhino short of a long travel kit.
