I want to go thru and re-seal the roof on the motorhome I just picked up. What product shoud I use? Caulking from Home Depot or? Its a Winnebago so it has a fiberglass roof which is in great shape, I only want to remove and replace the sealant where the roof meets the front and rear caps and the sides. Any help would be great. Also I noticed a few hairline cracks in the freezer...can I just caulk them up or do I need to replace the entire unit? Thanks

If you want to do it yourself. Then you can get everything at Arrow Trailer Supply in Ontario. Or I have taken my 5er to Quality RV in Fontana when I bought it used to have the roof checked out. Will take it back again in the beggining of the year to have it inspected again. Good people and prices.

I got up there again yesterday and the roof really is in great shape...one question I have is where the roof comes down to meet up with the side wall, there is no sealant at all, looks like there never was, is water supposed to drip down into the rail and run along the side or??? I dont want to seal it if I am not supposed to.

I never saw an answer the question as to which type of caulking to use. Anyone have an anwer? I need to some minor fixes myself and need to know what I need to buy. Also, I have some caulking somewhere that is 2-3 years old, assuming I properly closed it, could I use that, or is it too old?

I have done a lot of research on this and found out there are different types of sealant for different jobs...Winnebago recommends 100% silicone(home depot $6) if you don't have full body paint for all vertical surfaces...and a self leveling sealant for the horizontal surfaces...do not use a siliconized caulking as it hardens and you will need to replace it after a year or so. Also if you have full body paint, don't use 100% silicone because you can not paint over it.
