so im putting a big bore kit in my little 70 and of course i broke an exhaust stud off. i actually though id break both but i was lucky i guess. anyway ive still got a piece of it sticking out that a maybe able to do something with. not much but a little more than a 1/4in. if it snapped flush id easy out it but im thinking thiers got to be a good way to get it out now while i can grap something. i may have enough room to put 2 nuts on it and try to take it out like that but i thin i may break it off again. i also thought about just grabbing it with vise grips and trying that way but if i fail that ill have to end up cutting it then removing it. any other ideas or tricks? anything thatll give me a fighting chance. also when i do get it out should i get new studs or just get so grade 8 bolts and mount it like that.

Can you get a vise grip on it?
If not you may have to drill it out.

Can you weld a nut on it to remove it?

I would soak it a couple times in
PB Blaster (works better than WD-40) and then heat it up with a little butane torch and try to lock onto it with some needle nose vice grips.

X2 this might be the best bet in removing it, i would try the vise grips first.

i never even thought of welding the nut to it. ive got the welder and the nut so why not. its soaking in pb right now and ill let it sit for many more hours before i try it. i think thats probably gonna be the way. id try the grips first but itll ruin the threads so i wont be able to get the nut on and weld it.

Google 'reverse twist drills'
They are made for that sort of thing. Much better than 'easy-outs'.......
