I am thinking about running the Arizona Strip May 15th through the 19th being back at Mesquite Nevada late Thursday. I will be staying over and returning Friday, but that is optional. We will be staying at for four nights at the Bar Ten ranch 10 miles from the edge of the Grand Canyon. We may have to limit the size if the group depending on response. I will lead the group and we will have a sweep rider with full radio contact. I have run this trail and know the way to go. We will do Toroweap over look in the Park on Monday, do the Bar Ten over look and some trails around the ranch, and catch a sunset at Whitmore overlook. We will do Mule Canyon and some trails on Tuesday, and head back the long way on Thursday stopping at the Devil's Throat and some Petroglyphs on the way back to Mesquite. For those having to return back on Thursday they can take the short way back putting them back around noon to one PM on Thursday. The run to the Bar Ten is 80 plus miles and extra gas should be carried. You can buy gas at the Bar Ten for $5.00 dollars per gallon. You will need water and snacks as food will be provided at the Bar Ten Ranch. It is around $100.00 per person per night including all your meals. Drinks not included other than water. The Casa Blanca Resort in Mesquite is around $39.00 per night and we will park our rigs in their Parking Lot! So you are looking at around $380.00 for the trip gas and personal items not included. You must be street legal for Arizona to ride into the park to Toroweap overlook, but it is worth it. We will be going up in elevation to over 7000ft and will be almost 5000ft above the Colorado river at Toroweap and about 3800ft at the Bar Ten overlook where there is a Mule trail to the river that drops 800ft in a mile for anyone wanting to walk to the bottom. Impute is appreciated!

This ride can be done with the Rally on the Rocks at Moab UT! Which is May 11th to the 14th!

Okay, this is huge! I just talked to the Folks at Rugged Radios and WOW they are willing to make us a "Smokin deal" on a radio intercom system for anyone on THIS ride! They are putting two packages together, one budget and the other full blown with Intercom and 50 watt base station! Anyone who has their reservation confirmation for the Bar Ten for our dates will get the special price on these packages! I was told this would be "Unbeatable" and "The best package price they have ever offered" so it maybe enough to savings to pay for itself? More to come!

Early May there could be anything from high 60s to low 80s! Most of the trip is around 4000 to 5000ft and up to 7000ft! The nights will get down into the low 40s! Might have wind or might be still? It is weather, you never know!

You might check the forums and offer to underwrite the PL and PD insurance that will be required?

Okay, this stuff is harder than it looks! Even ten months out! The Bar Ten has informed me they are pre-booked for the 6ht through the 7th with 62 people! So they have NO room for us that weekend! I have been on the phone with them a number of times today and the best I can do is 20 people max for the 15th through the 18th of May! So we would have to do it the day after Moab and leave Mesquite Sunday Morning and return on Thursday to Mesquite! The first 20 will be guaranteed room and board! I am talking to them about if we have more allowing some to camp if anyone would want to bring their own tent, sleeping bag, and pillow? They are try hard to accommodate us, but it is a popular place and they are booked by River Runners a year in advance!
So if this is okay with those on the list please let me know and if not I understand if you have to drop off! But anyone on the list up to 20 will be accommodated and assured a spot!
Please let me know! This ride will go on no matter what, it is just about the timing and the exact dates. If we must limit it to the first 20 then those will be the lucky ones!
The other alternative is mid to late June, but the heat is on!
