We are a 99% Gordon's only crew. I've done buttercup, I've done Glamis, both Gecko and Washes sides.... and I like Gordon's best.

Gordons only here, we have made a few trips to glamis via sandhighway, and of course cross the freeway to Buttercup. Although on some guy only trips we may go over to glamis. (usually week day trips)

Damn southies, get your own website. This is GLAMISdunes.com!
j/k - Buttercup is where our group got started too. I remember riding south until you hit the farm fields in Mexico. There is an awesome series of bowls back between plank road and big bowl. Cool hill on the far east side that we used to call China wall. I used to love the trips from Buttercup to the Duner Diner and then to the drags at Gordons. Great memories. It just seems like a pond now compared to Glamis lake. We still hit it every once in a while, but I prefer Glamis. I heard you cant cross the freeway bridge anymore though, that must suck.

News to me... Is this something new? Crossed a few times last season with BLM and BP sitting right there. They just waived.

As of the last weekend in April when I was there, you could still cross the freeway bridge.

Glamis for the summer night runs and Gordons during the season. I love both places but Glamis gets too beat up and whooped out in the winter.

I take my family to Gordons as the kids like the tighter dunes on their quads. That is where we started this awesome sport 8 years ago. It is definately a different style of riding than Glamis. I really enjoy it. I also make several trips a year to Glamis but usually just with my car and no kids. I hang out with a fun group there. Pretty much all cars in the group for those weekends. I have a blast in both the North and the South dunes but most of my trips are with my family at Gordens.

I've been known to slum-it-up quite a few times during the season.
Different dunes for sure.

Gordon's for us mostly. It has what I need. Love it. Love G too but Gordon's is our spot.

I agree the South Dunes Suck! Please all peeps interested in trying them, not worth your time...
I say this from experiance from going there 2-8 times per year for the last 27 years...
Without a doubt G has bigger dunes & has a much larger legal riding area since the closures. I enjoy it & have been up there many times. Now is it worth an extra 45 minutes each way for me plus everything that comes along with the G experiance? Most of the time no but if I was coming from the PHX or LA metro areas I would frequent it more often. I picked up some seats a few years back over New Years weekend off of Gecko Road. You could NOT pay me to try to deal with that madhouse to camp & play.
BC is my home & I love it. Started out on 3 wheelers, Odyssy's then quads & Pilot & now have my 2nd car. There is a decent sized area between BC Valley & Midway camp site that has larger dunes similer to GW or G. That is awesome but the smaller dunes are a fun as well even with the car! I'm sure the years of quad riding helps but you should not fear tight, technical dunes. It will help you learn your car & help you with overall line picking.
GW dunes are much more G like. Not quite as big but Patton is an awesome hill. I know there are diehards but that Dunebuggy flats is a nightmare on busy weekends if there is not a breeze, HUGE dustbowl. The drags are cool & ALOT of riding area. Closer, more laid back but still get to see some great machines are the +'s for both South riding areas to me. To each there own though...
I am a Gordens regular and our group goes to Buttercup sometimes. We are going out saturday night 12 Sept for a guys run shake down to get things ready for the season.

Pretty much split between the two. My direct family usually goes to Glamis, but another group we ride with likes Gordon's.
