Okay, I'm at my friends house the other night who's hosting a small friends and family party, when of course we run out of something that we need to go to the store for. I've had a couple already and my friends daughter says she'll take me being she doesn't drink.
We finsih getting what we need, pay and are heading to the sliding glass doors. As we approach she stops and says, "open sesame". We walk out and I asked her, "What did you say?" "Open sesame", she says. I told her " no..no..no, you're not talking to a hambuger bun, it's open sez ( says ) me." Well, this debate goes on until we arrive back at the party, where we ask everyone what they thought was the correct phrase. Half thinks "sesame", and the other thinks "sez me". Witch one do you guys think is correct? And no I won't post a pic of my friends daughter, I'd lose for sure.

http://www.chacha.com/question/what-is-the...pen-sesame'The tale of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves (also one of my favorite Bugs Bunny cartoons) from Arabian Nights or One Thousand and One Nights guess it depends on who you are talking to.
Both say it originally was simsim but written into english as sesame. maybe simsim is sesame in arabic

After a long search for a catchy name, one of the show's writers suggested Sesame Street. The name "Sesame" was meant to conjure up a sense of excitement and adventure, as in the Arabian Nights command, "Open Sesame!" Because the show was set in an urban street scene, Sesame Street seemed an ideal combination.
