SANDSPANKER

I was thinking of gettong a pipe for my raptor and was thinking the CT pipe for the huge gain on power. But in Oregon you need to meet a 93 dbl level and its at 103 dbl. I've talk with Alan Knowles at CT he told me that I would have to only use 8 disc rather than the 12 disc (huge HP gains with 12). Now I know the hp numbers won't be the same with less discs but how about my jetting will it change?? From the 170,175 set up from CT? Any other thoughts on any pipes that will be closer to the sound levels I need???

Big Gun has a quiet insert and Yoshi has a Tuneable End Cap (TEC). Both should bring the db down to a legal range.

I know someone from another board that has experimented with quieting his YZ426 to reach strict Hollister County regs. I can ask if he will explain his techniques if anyone is interested. This is on an aftermarket silencer that wouldn't pass regs, even with a quiet core.

Just tell Allen whats going on and he will send you the right jets along with the pipe. With his pipes he sends the jets and needles for the carbs. I think he also sends K&N filters.
Just let him know what you are doing and he will set you up...

noise is a problem with the "cleaner" 4 strokes. with less disks you will have to jet differently, most likely you would need a smaller jet than if you had 12 disks in.

You can thank the Blueskies of the world for that
Just like Gun laws? if they cant Ban them all together? they restrict and or make it so difficult to posses and use.
They are aiming at the Off-Road community again

Is the law enforcement that is up there actually out there with a decibel meter?
Without one, they can't do anything to you. I say the hell with 'em,
a little extra noise isn't gonna hurt anyone. Go for the horsepower!

Crash, yes they are. If they think your bike is too loud, they will pull you over and test it and could give you a ticket. We dont call them sand nazi's for nothing.

thanks for thinking of me, fellas. did you know ea decibel is actually twice as loud as the previous number? so 96 db in CA is 3X louder than Oregon allows!
the new law that was signed yesterday AB2477 was a result of consensus reached by the Stakeholder's Roundtable of the Ca Dept of Pks and Rec. ASA has a rep or two as does CORVA and AMA. If you're mad, talk to your reps.
