Up in the northwest I've seen alot of lt 250's for sale. Are they a pile of crap or what?? My brother is looking at getting a quad he wants a 2 stroke but doesn't want to pay alot. Any help would be great thanks alot.

Its just like anything, you gets some good ones and ya gets some bad ones. Some run forever with no maintenance, others break down pushing it outta the garage. I hafta say I've heard more horror stories than good, but its close.

if you are looking for a lt 250 stay away from the 88 and under because they have a diffrent motor in it they do not have a power valve. I have an 89 and so far have had no problems with it at all. If you want to boost it up a little get the head ported and polished also get a 38 mm carb and a flat top piston will give you lots of power but you do need to run race gas for the compression. Mine will beat lots of banshees and hondas with no problem

Thanx for the props WOR, but it was actually macktonite that suggested some mods. I just said that there is good and bad, it all depends.
