I think they call them cool head because they look cool. You will do fine with a stock head. You could also raise the compression to 22cc domes and run on pump gas if you want more performance.

They call them cool-heads because they circulate more water around the combustion chambers helping it stay "cool"er enhancing performance. Plus the added ability to adjust compression for different situations/fuel grade.

The reason I run a cool head on my banshee is to raise the compression. It runs a tiny bit cooler but no big change. Stay with the stock head it works good with a stock engine. You can even have it milled for a little more power. If you have a high hp motor a cool head is a must, because you need to change the combustion chamber for performance gains.

Shane-O and Scott are right on. I have a stock head on my 97 and even during the summer in Glamis, my bike hasn't overheated. Stick with it untill you need to be "cooler" or unless you want adjustable domes.

Thanks again, guys... I guess I'll stick with the stock one for a while. My bike's all stock except for pipes and jets...
I'll be at Chaparral first thing in the morning on Saturday, or maybe even the night before. I'm sure a lot of you will be there...
My cell number is 949-293-0427... maybe I could meet some of you guys...
