Another question to bug you guys with... I've been running Yamalube 2R for premix and Yamalube4 20-40W for the tranny what do you guys use/recommend? I'm pretty happy with the premix, but a few of my buddies have been recommending Golden Spectro 80W gear oil for the tranny. Opinions/Input??

I use Golden Spectro 80wt and I'm very happy with it. I use Yama 2R also and would also like to hear input on better premix.

I'd like to hear a little on better premix also... I went to Toomey's website and they recommend Yamalube, but then again there could be a little bias there because all they deal with are Yamahas. Alba recommended Yamalube when I bought the bike, even though they sold all the other oils. But then again they're a Yamaha dealer. None of my buddies run Yamalube on their banshees... they run either Super M or Castor 927, or Golden Spectro... I'll switch if I'm convinced Yamalube is not the way to go... so, yeah, input from you guys would help...

Yamalube is a top quality pre-mix oil. Unless your blowing top ends all the time, why switch? I've ran 2R exclusivly on my 97 banshee and am on the original top end still. I won't switch.

Cycle parts west has 927 for $11 for 64 onces. It normally goes for $18. I don't know if this will help anyone but my wallet is much thicker than I thought it would be.

Thanks,Ben and fellas... After reading about your 97 Banshee, Ben, I'll definitely keep running Yamalube in my bike. I'm definitely switching from Yamalube4 20-40W to the 80wt in my tranny... sounds like a lot more protection. I'll be at Chaparral about 4:00-4:30am... maybe I'll see some of you guys there...

Ben, I wish I could make it to the gathering on the 11th, but I'm coming out in my friend's wedding on the 12th. I wanna go hang out with you guys as soon as I can. A buddy of mine and me are going out to G the following weekend to finally go get our little fix in. Do Taco Tuesdays count as gatherings, or are you talking about G only? I went to the last O.C. Taco Tuesday and finally got to meet a few folks like Michelle, Darrin and their family and Amigo, and a few others.
What other days are you guys going out to G??

During Glamis season, I go out twice a month so I'm sure I'll meet up with you some time. Just keep an eye on the connections forum and that will tell you when the board is having gatherings.
Sounds good to me, dude. Looking forward to it... Like I said, I'll be down there Friday the 18th... I'll be sure to keep checking the posts....
