Maybe you can taper bore them, that will help out. Allen Fox (619-445-1415) did that to my buddies carbs, don't know how much it is though.

I am running 370 in my stock carbs. Works good, I had 380's but they were thick.
I didnt have to do any mods to the carbs.

im runnin a taper bore and off hand dont remember my main jet size but its ridiculously huge and i get ALOT of fuel to my way modified 350. both sides for around 80 bucks at hy-tech-atv in yucaipa..... OR step it up with some big flat sliders.

well, whats all done to your bike man? 450 is pretty damn big for a stock mikuni carb. Even my '04 with full stage 3 port and p4 bore, only handles 350's.

I have just put in the works a Garrett Gt 12 full ball bearing turbo, So i dont need the bore size any bigger just the carb to flow more fuel.

my mods-after being ported by that dude at mission yamaha i had it ported again at hy-tech-atv so its like a drag port with low end. dont know what the cc size is but its been bored out a few times

(effn boost bottle boots) 19cc trinity stage IV cool head with the turbo modded domes. had v-force 2 reeds/cages but not im on the stockers with carbon fiber reeds and havent noticed a difference. taper bored carbs with like 390 jets i think after we downsized them. then a hot rod crank and all that crap, pro-lite pistons. lightend flywheel. and other things but thats the most of the actual combustion mods. also running pump gas. o ya and tr-6's and k&n's. ill have to get a picture up soon. anyway goodluck with that dude thats gonna be sick when its dialed in....do you need a blow-off for that?

your gonna have to get a bigger carb most likely. the fuel passges in the stock carb are only so big and can only flow so much fuel. maybe switch to a big single carb. probably find somehting off a street bike that could work.
SHOCKER
Jun 8 2004, 05:18 PM
Yeah but it has to be a 2-stroke, i havent seen any 2-stroke street bikes

FUEL INJECTION
If you you get the jets right ,you will probably still need a fuel pump,
to keep the bowl full.
I,m not too up on the quads ,but for a sidedraft turbo set up, you would use a big main and a big needle and seat. (spelling ?)
What about your timing, will you need to retard your ignition timing.
You wouldnt want to grenade the thing.
Good luck

Thanks for all the replies, I will probably have to go with larger carbs im just trying to save money as much as possible. With the demensions im playing with a side draft wont work but a single or daul carbs will work with a costom built manifold. And there used to be a site, i think it was dans, but he never got back to any of my questions.

Bansheeracing.com He quit making a turbo kits cause he used those peice of shiat aerochargers and they dont make them anymore. I am also looking for A stock raptor oil resivor, i need it for the turbo.
and 250 you can turbo any internal cumbustion engine, you just need the right size turbo, like the one i have.
thanks

It is very hard to tune a blow through turbo set-up on carbs, especially if you ride bumps. Call A&S Racing and talk to Dan H., he has the KING of the HILL turbo banshee that runs every T-Day at Olds.
I just finished (with KMS) my Raptor turbo project. 727 big bore, methanol, fuel injected (dual 96lb injectors), intercooled, Garrett GT22 (big boy), EMS 04' Raptor and love boost.
Details here if interested:

All i can say about Dan @ a&s is that he never returns emails or phone calls. I had been trying to contact him for a year. I will figure it out on my own, i wouldn't call dan for anything f him, and his shop.
