Depending on the bike and how many hours on it, you may want to have the valves adjusted.

What's all involved with doing a valve adjustment???
Chummin
Hammer, duct tape, some wire, and a pipe wrench. [Big Grin] [Beer] [Beer] [Beer]

Check the clearence between the cams (overhead) and the valves. Book should esplain it.

If you have access to the tools, a leak down test will tell you what shape your rings/piston is in. It's always a good way to check if your gonna need a rebuild in the next season or not.

the valves are easy, the procedure is usually in the owners manual.
