Im working on a friends 06 Quicksand Performance 4 seater LS1 rail and someone told him that the what we thought was a Mendeola Trans is actually not. Supposedly its better the the Mendeola. I was under the impression that Mendeolas were pretty much the best, but not sure, still doing research. I'd have to look deeper but from first glance there is no visible markings of brand name.

Where would i find a brand name on it? I'll try and get some pics tonight.

Also, what would an estimated weight be on the 4seater QSP? the chasis is made of 1.5x .090. He's looking for a flatbed trailer to haul the rail and a few quads but not sure what size axles and tongue rate to look for.

if its in a quicksand then its probably a megasand transaxle

Too many variale to make a ssumption over the keyboard without taking some pic's so all can see. Megasand/Quicksand have had many different series of tranaxles just like Mendeola does. Post up what you are referring to and the board can make a better prediction.

Will do. I took a look at pics of both online and i don't think the cases look like either. I'll take some pics tonight.

His friend told him that it was like a $13,000 Trans but im not sure he knew what he was talking about.

that would be my vote . they have a comparable trans to a 2d and comparable to an s4 . dont know i would say better , i would use the term comparable ,i have seen the internals but i am no trans guy . jmho . tim

You have a PBS trans in your Quicksand.

It sounds like maybe a QPH4 or QPS4 from Quicksand/PBS.

My 2004 QSP 4 seat car weighs 2,000 lbs full of fuel and the wing trunk set up with supplies and tools and has a Honda 3.5 and mendeola 2D. If your buddy hasen't tuned the suspension with springs and valves yet he needs to do it. My car was so far off and rode like sh*t. Back in 04 or 06 they didn't have the suspension set up right and put way too heavy of springs on . They do have it figured out now. My QSP car is in my avatar.
