OK all you effers, don't tell my Mom, 'cause she definitely taught me better.
I finally succumbed to peer pressure & picked up an ATC70. laughing.gif
It's an 81. The tires don't match and the air filter is after-market but the rest is all original. It looks as though the tank is dent/ding free! tongue.gif
Already terrorized the neighborhood today when I got home then started pulling it apart. I don't think anyone has ever cleaned it. blink.gif
Can I take the green wire from the stator and splice it right to a light?? icon_confused.gif

I bought a basket case and tried to bring it back to life.... Had alot of help from friends...
The only thing I have left if I am going to take some artic snow white marine seat material and get it stitched onto another seat.. White flames on a black seat cover. Then it will be done......

My next trike will be about the same except I will go with a metal tank and cut a piece out so I can get my 125cc lifan that I had some zoom zooooom work done on it put in.. I am thinking of candy apple blue or some type of orange....

My first post here, might as well make it a good one.

Here is a all stock (except for the front fender)
85 ATC70 I pickup a few weeks ago. I had an 84, but I lost it to the DMV when I went to register it.

Here is the 84, I got to keep the headlight and a few other parts I had added.

Just curious, if you don't mind me asking, how did you lose it to the DMV when you went to register it? Did the vin come back as stolen or something? Can you check a vin # before going to the DMV?

I did check the VIN on the 84 with the DMV before I took it down for the inspection. The inspector read one digit that I thougth was a 3 as a 5. When they ran the number with the 5, It came back as stolen back in 1984. The DMV guys tried to work it out, but the computer listed the last owner as a insurance office that did not exist. If the former owner would have released interest, I would have gotten it back. It got impounded, and probably went to auction. The only thing I did not get to keep was a new set of tires on powder coated wheels. I no longer had the POS wheels and tires it came with, so I could not put them back on.

I went to the licensing office two or three times prior to the DMV inspection. They had to check the numbers through the state before I could go. I actually had three trikes I was trying to get tabs for, the other two (both ATC250sx) made it through the process. I have tabs for them, and after two years "if there is no activity" (whatever that means) I can apply for titles.

The frame on the 84 had been repaired once, I have another frame in the barn, I was going to do a swap. I need to have the numbers checked on that frame too.
