That's not the frame I saw. That must be a newer design, cause the one I saw was more of a typical a arm design w/o the X over/ i beam thing going on. Crazy motherf'r dean is!!!
Yamiboy
even if his frames were $4-$5k that would still be a good deal if you start buyin suspension and want to get serious into it then why not go to a frame like this.
i think it would be well worth the money.

i would almost be interested if i could afford it. plus if i had that much travel id get myself into some trouble. that and id have to add more power to the shee for more fun.
dunerider
how is the suspension compared to so cal fab's king shock set up for raptors?
Mike330R
Keep in mind that his frames would not be the greatest duners. They are made to go fast in a straight line. Try and turn sharp and you can forget it.

If you look at the video I posted he is in 6th gear through the whoops..sitting down icon_smile.gif
When he turned the front end raised up about 6+ inches due to the extreme camber or caster (can never keep those to straight).
Also during a sharp turn he had to slow down quite a bid.

A-Dare
Guy builds some f'n fast motors too. Had his full port job onmy old banshee and it was fast!!!

I have a Sundahl bike but I'm having problems with my computer posting pictures. If you look in the long travel banshees post I think I put some pics up in there. The bike rides like a trophy truck with handlebars. jump.gif That's it in my Avatar too

Thanks! My computer seems to have a firewall problem and it won't let me post pics. When he built this bike for me it was the 3rd or 4th one he built. When used with his spindles it has 19.5 inches of front travel and 18 inches of rear. As high as it looks when I sit on it I have about 8 inches of down travel. The thing kills the woops like runnun through mashed potatos. rwild.gif I see some of you have ridden one too. I watched him in a desert race in ElCentro and where everyone else was creepin through the rough stuff he was WFO, just smashin everything. When I built mine it took me about a year to really get it dialed in but it was worth every minute. I'll have it in Glamis thanksgiving, just look for the chrome plastic. I had a drag bike as well but it did'nt forgive me like the Sundahl bike does. I had a real bad crash at the 2004 night races so I sold that bike and bought a 2004 Ram CTD. My new rule is "with age......comes a cage." Sand car should be done for T-Giving too. I look foreward to seeing all of you on the big weekend.

sandtazm - I PMed you a while ago - we are building a sundahl right now for a pro atv racer... Gonna debut it at a race next month...
We may need some "reference" points and sundahl owners aren't easy to come buy...
Mind if I PM or email you any q's we come up with when we are "revamping" ours?
We have IMS/ROLL and a few other sponsors on board helping us with this build up so far... If you dont mind - can you PM me your contact info - id love to get some more info from you - so would our mechanic, etc.

how is it dune riding that thing? seems to sit kinda high. does it cut bowls and what not the same? or does it seem top heavy?

It's 53 inches wide, it's not top heavy at all. Thats about 10 inches wider than stock and no bump steer problems either. Sand Hwy.....WFO 15.gif

Set it up with about 6 inches of down travel w/o anyone setting on it with a big spring on the rear. Dial it up like a trophy truck. If you are using his spindles set the angle about 5 degrees back from vertical. The closer you get to vertical the easier it will steer but it'll get squirlier at high speed. If it starts to nose over in the corners increase the dampening but try to keep the spring rate softer. Then smash it through the whoops. You should get real smooth at about 30 to 40 mph. Don't be shy give it a try, it won't hurt it'll just squirt. 15.gif
duneatic
it seemed top heavy cause it sits a lot taller than stock. it didnt seem that much wider but that sounds awesome. that must be a blast to ride!! that would great if i could just look at it up close in Glamis yet alone try it!! we'll have to meet up some time.
realbadlarry
That guy passed me at Barstow to vegas in 89....I was on a cr500 and he went by like a trophy truck...very impressive indeed.
Yamiboy
i have seen a "sleeper" out at Gordons twice now. cant tell who is riding because im looking at the frame when he rides by. the bike has the stock 06 redish powdercoat with white plastics. the only way you can tell when he goes down the drags is the chrome a arms and when he hits the gas the bike lifts up like a crazy mofo. impressive because he runs alot of drag banshees because they have to slow for the whoops.

|I think he's from Flagstaff. The motor is a cheeta built by John Dyer at Racer's Edge.

where ever he is from he did a good job finishing it up. if you dont know what your looking at it looks like another stock banshee with athe stock OEM red podwercoart and white plastics. the only way i realized what he had was when he gased it and the front end had soo much damn lift to it. my buddy didnt believe me til he saw it for himself.

It's about impossible to do a wheelie, the front tires just want to stay on the ground. When I'm in Glamis crusin the rows I'll gass it and people look at the bike like it's some kind of monster 15.gif It allready looks huge then it lifts another 6 inches when you're on the gas. peace.gif Here's a shot from behind.

I think that 53" puts the quad into a different category that will allow you to run a double. I was told he always carries/carried a tape measure for whrn he got pulled over.

Mabey someone has some more info on this issue???????????????????
