What chain lube does everyone use?? I have the Yamaha chain lube for my banshee but it's really gummy. Ever heard of "Tri-Flow with teflon"? Is that stuff o-ring safe? Opinions please... THANKS

I use Maxima chain wax, it does'nt fling everywhere and the sand does not stick to it as much as the other lubes.

I use the maxima too....it great.

I read an article in Sand Sports that said if you have an O-ring chain that you don't need to lube it. Just clean it once in a while... The chain is pre-lubed and the o-rings hold the lube in, all the other chain lubes do is attract sand and casue the chain to wear out faster... "KG" might be able to tell you what issue it was in. Another vote for Maxima Chain Wax.

Dunernr is right, O-ring chain don't need lube but they can get rusty. I use WD-40 on my chains and have never had a problem with them.

Now if you have the standard chain then you need to lube it often.

YUP, I USE MAXIMA CHAIN WAX ALSO, LESS MESS ,,BUT ANY LUBE IS BETTER THAN NONE [Big Grin]

Two page article in Sand Sports about chains and what and how to lube them...

Hard to belive there is an article that wasn't trying to sell you a product...

O-Ring Chain's - Do not need to be lubed!

How do you get the lube past the o-rings anyway?

The o-rings are used to hold the lube in.

THANKS FELLAS!!!!!!!! does that mean I change clean my chain with simple green and not really have to lube it after??
dunernr
I'd give it a little shot of WD-40 wipe it off, no rust...

I use chain wax, and only after I clean the chain with a pressure washer as recomended in the Yamaha owners manual.

Most people don't use anything at all and probably have the same results as those of us who lube.

MFR makes a chain lube that actually "dries". It will collect NO sand. As we all know the following is true:
Sand + chain lube= 2-stroke cheese grater.
It's kind of spendy but it's awesome.
