I was going thru some ancient Four Wheeler Magazines, Off Road Mags, etc. from the late 80's and 90's and was wondering what ever happened to all these trucks, cars, quads, old school buggies, etc?

Some of the old videos I have show lots of old school really trick buggies, quads that were gold plated, crazy turbo 1100 quads, etc.

So did you ever have anything in a magazine? get a story done on your work, etc.

Alot of you guys know each other and maybe its common knowledge, but would you share? Got any pics?

I got to do an interview on October 3rd with a guy from Sand Sports Magazine who was at our dunes in Oklahoma, and he shot some pics of my quad, and said it would be in the first issue or 2 of 2011, so that's kinda cool.

I just see all these old awesome trucks and wonder what happened to them?

I wrote a story that was published in Sand Sports and an article on the opening of Suspensions Unlimited in Ontario for glamisdunes.com that was picked up by sand addiction.

cool guys,

here's a bad picture of our group at the last ride, it will be in sand sports also, just using a real camera!
He did some action shots and a group shot, then did a couple of mine as a built bike, and my buddy who has owned his since new in 1990

I've never been other the Dusty Times for the racing stuff. Our team owner Don Chase, his son Travis and daughter Kari were on the cover of Sand Sports a few years back when they finished building their two Buckshot X5's and Kari's purple 4 seater (Swift Performance maybe??).

flashpoint might know when that was I think he helped put them togther.

We were at Glamis a year ago last Prez day, hanging out at the beach store, was approached by a documentary crew, from LA, interviewed us, put a cameraman (very serious equipment) in each of our cars, we took them out for a really hard run, back side of Olds, through the bowls and met their van up on the overlook (I'm pretty sure the Gal expierenced buggy sex...you know she had that glazed eye thing going, thought I was a really aggressive driver, I didn't tell her that my old two seater had hung the accellerator wide open, going up one of the steepest bowls,, dammned lucky we didn't die, haha) anyway they weren't worried about the equipment, said it was rental, didn't want to tear their stuff up. My brother, Chris, and friend Loran gave very good interviews...I was not very photogenic. Oh yeah supposed to be out this year, still haven't seen it. Tim

I was in about a dozen or so magazines about 7-8 years ago when I did the streetbike thing. My team had a featured story in one magazine in which I did the interview for the team.....good stuff! I still have copies of most of them!

I was in minitrucken for a tacoma I had, sandaddiction for a manx, kitcar builder for a manx, hot vw's for building Meyers "signiture" series manx bodys, san diego lifestyles for a bunch of acrylic work on a $18 million dollar house, and have had several of our manx bodys featured for customers cars. It's pretty cool to see something that you have put allot of work into in the pages of a good magazine.

There was a diesel dyno event/competition in Phoenix a couple years ago. Diesel Power magazine was on hand to note results. There was a short bit about me and my truck. I was in many of the featured photos from the event.

My Dmax ended up taking second place to some full race Fummins by less than 75hp...

Aaron, I think you have not been in a sand mag, cause you haven't spent enough on this sport. How can you expect to be taken seriously? rotf.gif

In 97 I was working at a Mustang performance shop. We did 3 different tech articles for Muscle Mustangs and Fast Fords mag. My boss was a regular contributor, but but it just so happened that the 3 articles that I did ended up all in the same issue! So I went from never having been in a magazine to 3 articles in 1 issue!

Mid to late 90's was in all the car audio magazines. Feature article in Car Audio and Electronics, cover and article of Car Audio Installers magazine. But then again, they would feature anyone that traveled the circuit like I did with almost 200k spent on two competition vehicles and many world championships/world records.

Lets see the installs! I was a subscription holder for a good 10 years (all through the 90s and early '00). I tossed all of the mags about a year and a half ago because we moved out of the house but I bet I will remember the install.
