Boy do I feel like an idiot. My house burnt a week ago and I had to go to a hotel . That night I checked in with everything I could grab that I could. I got my weapons and some important papers and my rc helicopter.I grabed the helicopter cause it survived and was portable. I put the helicopter on top of the armoire in the room. Well I spent a week there until the insurance co. put me up in a rental place. When I checked out i was focused on the weapons and papers and forgot the copter. It's not going to kill me if I don't get it back, but it was worth over a grand. I called the hotel 8 hours later whe I realized I had left it and the guy at the desk said that the maid had mentioned it but he didn't know where she put it and he would call me back. I called about 2 hours later and a different guy said that the maid that cleaned my room wasn't coming in that day and they were still trying to locate it. I just tried to call again and no one picked up and I was transferred to their message center. I think they are trying to avoid talking to me. What do you think my chances are of getting it back of being compensated for it.

and yeah I've left things before.. Most expensive though was the charger for my daughter's laptop (she actually is responsible for forgetting that one)

Best wishes that they are honorable and had it over, you've had enough bad luck hug.gif

My wife and I checked in to a motel and she realized that she forgot her laptop power cord.
I went to the front desk and the clerk pulled out a box of about 30 power cords that other people had left,
I found one that fit. now she has a spare.

I've left a few things but the worst was leaving my pillow. I have a tough time finding a pillow that I like and I'd had this one for a few years and loved it. Never got it back icon_sad.gif

Not a hotel but a houseboat. We had unloaded after the trip and me and a buddy were waiting for inspection and check out. I had an envolope full of cash for the checkout, fuel and ice bill. Stupidly I set it on the bed did the walk around and left for the desk without it. Got to the desk to checkout and said crap, went back and a local was starting to clean and the envolope was nowhere to be seen. I asked her and she said she hadn't seen it. I went outside for two minutes then walked back in and it was setting exactly where I left it. What a dirtbag, and I learned a lesson without it hurting beer.gif

My buddy rented a house in the Parker Keys for his 40th. As a gag gift, I bought him a penis pump and a g-string. He put it under the bed, he didn't want his kids, to see it laying around. He forgot about it when he left, think the rental company called and asked if he wanted it shipped. rotf.gif
gone
My Daughter left close to 500.00 worth of jewelry in a San Diego hotel. She came back about an hour later and it was gone. She was not allowed to look in the room for it. Instead they sent a maid to the room to look. She was not allowed to go with the maid however.
Class ring, tiffany's bracelet and a few other things, gone...

So sorry to hear about the fire.

When my daughter was like 3 or 4 we left the pillow she cuddled with in a hotel...in MEXICO. Ya, never saw it again and to this day she brings it up! laughing.gif

Went on a cruise a few yrs ago with the wife and kids, everyone was responsible for their luggage bags when we left the hotel to catch a cab to the airport. We all had 2 bags a piece that we left in the front lobby waiting for the cab, well my 4yr old at the time took one of his bags out of the pile and left his somewhere else. We didn’t find out until we were checking our bags at the airport that one was missing. My wife called the hotel and they had it and were nice enough to ship it back to us for a 30.00 fee.
