Link worked, I got through. Thats cool, man. I love honda's old school reliability but the Yamaha is kickin butt. (My favorite of the two)....But. It's not a banshee so it is still number 2 at the most....hehe icon_smile.gif

Hey the two pics of the guy in red gear on the red and white YFZ at that link are me. They were taken during the magazine intro to the YFZ at LACR.

Not a surprise, it is one hot ride for sure.

We got the red and white one. Would have confused to many peeps if there were three blue ones in the camp.... laughing.gif
YFZ4KT
no confusion, we have our ways but the white and red is cool....... icon_biggrin.gif

I would have liked to have read some of the Honda's down fall why it didn't win. All the article talks about are the down falls of the YZF and that most of the racers ride it over the Honda because of the top end speed.

What is it that make's the 450R such a pig other then it's not a two stock.

If I were to buy a new quad right now I would get the YZF. But remember this is Honda's first year with the 450R so they still have a few bugs to work out...

as I have had the opportuity to ride both bikes before making my decision on what to but. I chose the Honda.Reasons the power between the two are un noticeable the Honda is more comfortable to ride.If you are a hardcore racer then you you will be pround of owning the uncomfortable riding Yamaha. I know at the end of my day long ride that my Honda has taken me up every treeshot and around every trail and when I return my butt wont hurt from sitting on that hard seat and also be beeten to death by yamahas harsh suspenision other than that either bike is a good choice. I go for fast and rider comfort the kick start is'nt my favrite but i can live with it the both are the best and fasest bikes right out of the box so what more can we ask for
tron
I have both.

Either bike is great, the Yam is faster, the Honda smoother and more comfortable. If anyone gets the Yam, get a softer seat, makes a big difference if you ride all day.
memo
tron, are both of your bikes stock? a have both the yfz and the trx450 and since the day i got them honda has been a little faster. now since i put the hrc cam & duncan pipe its alot faster. i'm not going by the but dyno, i'm running both bikes on the same hill trying different mods w/ both bikes and switching riders.

It is honda's first year but it was also yamahas first year with this bike. Honda had time to look at the product yamaha put out months in advance and still came out a bit behind just like they always do. Maybe in another 15years they'll come out with something to replace this one. Or maybe they'll ride it out a few years like they did with the 400ex while the comp walks all over them.

So, which one are you riding at Elsinore on July 3rd then?

The Honda is bone stock (well, paddles) the Yam has been jetted, air boxed and baffled (out.) I'm waiting a little bit, then going to bring them all in to get done, I was going to bring to Curtis Sparks, but I dunno if I want to drive that far.

July 3rd - I wouldn't mind going, but I have zero seat time on a track, and wouldn't know how to take those bigger jumps. I also have a real problem with loosing. If I have time before the 3rd to get to the track to practice, so I can see if I can even make it around the track, then I'll race, if not I'll just be the camera guy.

I can dune pretty well, but a mx track? Anybody out there a trainer?

SHOCKER
