I put on the trinity 2-1 carb kit and it will not idol anymore. I notice that there is a electrical switch on the thumb throttle that does something. What do I need to get it to idol?

First thing you should do is call Harry McDermott at Trinity! He stands by what he sells and should help you out. (714) 632-3434

I will call him but, for now I was wondering if I had to buy an idol kit to get rid of that electric switch.
Poiks
I think probably the switch you're talking about is for the TORS switch, which were the two boxes that sat on top of your original dual carbs. Those switches are supposed to shut off the engine if the throttle gets stuck open when you let go of the thumb throttle. I'm not an expert, but it'd be hard to figure how that would affect your idle.

Good luck!

CHECK YOUR DIRECTIONS AGIN THERE IS SOMETHING IN THERE THAT TELLS YOU ABOUT THOOSE WIRES COMING OF THE STOCK CARBS IF YOU STILL HAVE PROBLEMS CALL HARRY HE WILL STAND BEHIND HIS STUFF . YOU ALREADY MADE THE BEST MOVE BY GETTING A 2-1 CARB I WOULD OF NEVER BOUGHT A BANSHEE IF I DIDN'T RIDE ONE /W/ ONE FIRST OH THE BOTTOM END IS SO NICE

I figured it out. There is a small black box that is under the front left fender that deals with the TORS and all I had to do was disconnect it. I was not trying to flame Harry I just wanted to fix my problem last night and Trinity was not open. Now I can't get the damm thing to rev past 2000 or so rpms. It feels like it is on a rev limiter. Do I need to do anything to the wires that I disconnected?

Dang! I shoulda thought of that black box. I recently removed mine when I confirmed it was part of the TORS.

Good luck with your Banshee--I also had great results with the single-carb setup. [Burnout]

Poiks, is there anything else related to the torrs that can be removed? IE: wiring or anything? Thanks
leadfoot350
Some guy told me to un-hook the black box and then hook all three wires up together that were unpluged from the box. I think this might fry the ignition so I am not going to do this untill certain. Somebody please set me in the right direction.

Hmmm...unfortunately I don't know. Trinity did my installation when they did the porting work. But if you do a web search on Banshee and TORS, you come up with a bunch of hits. I'll bet the info is out there.

Here's a link to Toomey's page on installing a twist throttle. It includes some info:

Good luck.

OK problem is sovled. I removed the E-brake and it was not able to complete a circit. I had to remove the cable that went to the E-brake and then it worked.

Leadfoot,
I knew a guy who had a brand new banshee. Got stuck at the bottom of a small bowl and set the e-brake. Forgot all about it and then couldn't get it to rev up! Starts just fine but won't ride!

Took us an hour to figure it out!
