LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A pickup truck driver, who was not wearing a seat
belt, died today when his vehicle overturned and he was thrown out on a freeway
connector road in the Carson area, authorities said.
The accident on the connector from northbound San Diego (405) Freeway to
the southbound Harbor (110) Freeway was reported about 2:30 a.m., and a
roughly 20-year-old man was declared dead at the scene, Ed Winter of the
coroner's office said. The driver's name was not immediately available.
The 2007 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 pickup truck overturned on the connector
road, ejecting the driver, according to the California Highway Patrol.

LONG BEACH (CNS) - A pickup truck driver, thrown from his vehicle and
killed when he crashed into a big rig on the shoulder of southbound San Gabriel
River (605) Freeway, was identified today as 36-year-old Long Beach man.
Hugo Robert Solis died in the roughly 9 p.m accident near Wardlow Road,
according to the California Highway Patrol, which said the pickup also burst
into flames.
Solis was going about 65 mph when the 2000-model Chevrolet Silverado
veered onto the shoulder and struck a stalled big rig, according to the CHP.
