Check out what some Raptor guy claims. He calls his Raptor "TUNED":
Here was some of the competition and results
"TUNED" vs DS760 Carbed/alky
300' won by 3 bikes
660' won by 4 bikes
"TUNED" vs 420/alky Drag Banshee
300' won by 1.5 bikes
660' won by 4 bikes
"TUNED" vs 500cc carbed/alky Drag Banshee
300' lost by 1.5 bikes
660' lost by 5 bikes
"TUNED" vs DS Ron Woods Stage 3 alky
300' won by 5 bikes
660' won by 9 bikes
"TUNED" vs Trinity 686 FCRs
660' won by I'm guessing around 25 bikes
"TUNED" vs Raptor 727 < don't know builder
300' won by 4 bikes
These were the more competitive machines there.
"TUNED" was running a 14/40 sprocket combo and fueled by VPc-25

I did see an alky 400EX dominating the hill once. Well, it was the hill at Pismo, but I was still surprised!

Not to add fuel to the fire, but if you have not seen fast thumpers at Glamis, then make sure you are there for 4 Stroke Wars on MLK weekend.
WFO. Let me know when you are headed to Glamis next, maybe we can hook up and run for fun in the dunes. Raptor vs. Quadzilla. Gotta love a 2 stroke in the sand...

A few years back my buddy who had a 250r on alky was racing this kid on a Banshee up comp. The kid thought that the Banshee was the sheit and no 250r could beat him. So he calls my buddy out who's quad looked like a stock p.o.s. Every run they made my friend left the kid eating sand. The kid got so mad that his banshee was losing that he threaten to go back to camp and get his gun.
Some people just don't no how to loss gracefully

Now there's a fine example of the kind of person I want out in the dunes...

WFO, these guys are mostly from the midwest, where they dont have many "dunes" to ride in, so they all build their stuff for drags.

WFO - Is this your quote from above? "No 4 banger beat me up the hill - I go lookin for the faster thumpers"
If so, you don't have to go "lookin" for faster thumpers, I will come to you at Glamis

i would have't to see the tuned raptor beat a alchy banshee to belive it . it's just all about $ the more you got the faster you go . spend enough and you can make a 250X beat a banshee but who wants to waist that much $.

That is funny you said 250X. I saw one a couple of years ago at comp spanking piped banshee ass, the banshee guys could'nt believe it
. It was hilarious
. The guy had tons of work done to it $$$$

A Trinity 686 kit is $1400 for the Raptor and at that level it will beat any piped Banshee and 75% of the ported ones as well. Bottom line at this time there is nothing that beats the bang for the buck power of a Banshee in the dunes, but when a 4-Stroke beats a Banshee up the Hill it causes a helluva lot more stir than when another Banshee beats a Banshee.
The look on the faces is priceless..........

I have never loss to a gas power thumper, I run a ported 3rd stage 86 ATC. I run them all time (DS's 400EX's, Raptor's and so on).
I smoke them plain and simple, and as a matter of fact, that's what I set the bike up for (eating EX's Raptor's and DS's).
Has anyone ever seen a thumper winning at Olds?
If you run NITRO you'll have a chance.

on holloween at patton valley i saw a raptor beat a banshee about 5 times in a row .so i wanted to see how fast this guy was, what i found out was that banshee was slow because i never saw that raptor after i left the bottom of the hill. there was a 3-wheeler that put a hurtin to me though but it was fun tryin to beat him .somebody is allways goin to beat you so just smile and eat the sand .it's all good when your having fun at the hill

I've heard a lot about all of these fast raptors beating piped/ported banshees but have never seen one come close. I'll believe it when I see it. Just my 2 cents.

Do you run the stock frame or a drag frame on the 250R ATC? I believe in equal opportunity whoop-ass on 2-Strokes. My Raptor is easy to spot with the Silver Fore Bore Plastic and longer swing-arm with a Trinity logo. I beat a CT ported ATC 250R last year (85) with a 6" swing-arm at Olds, but that was with my old and slower motor.
All in fun...

Nice looking ATC. I remember buying the 85' when it first came out and then racing it at Fud's D38 events. Don't think it can keep up with my Raptor though, so I will keep an eye out for your graphics on the radiator shrouds. Good luck and happy duning....

Just a big bore Trinity 727 with FCR carbs, not nearly as fast as the 89mph Harry just did on his Banshee at Olds
![[Wink]](wink.gif)
, but still a true dune machine and a fun ride with electric start and reverse.
Like I said, all in fun, but I do like educating piped and ported quads at Glamis on the non-stoppable 4-Stroke revolution.
I am willing to run anyone for fun that has a OEM motor and frame based quad, so let's set it up for Thanksgiving Weekend.
King? You must read your PM's too much.....
