I have an antivirus program (Zonealarm Security Suite). I also have internet explorer sandboxed using (sandboxie) which creates a virtual drive.
This thing is nasty, it uses many resources bringing the RAM to a screaching halt, and can eventually lead to complete failure. Pop up, after pop up, every ten seconds simulating an antivirus program warning of virus attacks. It resembles windows firewall. Internet explorer continued opening on it's own to the programmci.com website. So I immediatly turned off the wireless so it couldn't access the web. It's a fake site asking you to buy the program to free yourself from the virus attacks, but all they want is your credit card number!
I couldn't open the task manager, control panel, or the registry to stop it, I actually couldn't open anything, a pop would say the folder trying to open was infected an instantly close anything I tried to open. This makes a ton of registry changes.
I have Internet Explorer sandboxed, so I'm not sure how this thing got through to barriers. My wife said she didn't download anything. I told her to stay off the damn porn sites, lol.
