ok i have been thinking about my next mod to my banshee. i own a 2002 banshee with a stock motor (eternally) i do have pipes, air filter, and boost bottle but thats it.

i was wanting to put some more power to the ground without going into the motor(yet) i am still saving for suspension but thats gonna be a while cuz is gonna cost me close to $3k for the full suspension front and back.

i want thinking about going to bigger carbs but wasnt to sure. im not sure what my banshee runs now i think they might be 34mm mukuni (sp?)

my question: would it be a huge difference if i went to a 38mm carb? or would it be something that i shouldnt mess with yet til im ready for the motor mods?

if i were to go with bigger carbs do i have to take out the air box cuz i really dont want to. i dont know why but i like knowing i have an air box and not a straight air filter.

also finally... how much would i be lookin at cost wise? im think close to $700 or $800 for the both of them. i would like to keep them the same brand as what i have now cuz i have had good luck with mukuni (sp?) so far but if it will be a huge price difference i wouldnt mind changin brands.

thanks for your info

Numero uno......ditch the boost bottle. It is giving you slower throttle response since you don't have a big bore. Boost bottle are made for big bore cylinders to dump the gas/air mix quicker.

And if you have stock carbs than they are 28mm mikuni's. One of the best carbs ever made. I have tons of mods on my banshee and I'm keeping the stock carbs for a while. I can't dune it cuz I am 2-5 over-ride.

You do not want 38mm carbs on a stock motor. That's rediculous. It depends on what you are going to do with your motor. Keep the stock carbs for now. They are one well built machine. Trust me. Don't waste the cash when u can get the same amount of power out of them.

I am ready for 35mm carbs, kinda waiting on the cash to get them. If you don't have drag pipes then u dont need bigger carbs. (Meaning, u need a lot of motor work for bigger carbs to be effective.

I have the 2 k&n filters off my carbs. I dont know if the stock air box will mount to bigger carbs. U get a lot more air flow with the pods off of the carbs.

And when u do change carbs, whenever that may be......u can get bigger mikuni's but I wouldn't recommend it. I would go with 35mm air strikers, or 32 up to 35mm Keihin carbs.<----the best. tongue.gif

Any more questions bro. feel free to ask away.......~Ryan
