I am going to get my banshee ported next season and was thinking about getting something more. Would it be better to make it a 420cc short or long or to stroke it 4mm or greater? I enjoy sand dunes only and am not looking to be the fastest hill shooter out there but am looking for the best all around duner and shooter combo. And for all you honda guys, no I am not going to buy a honda or anything to do with honda stuff on my shee.

For what you want, I would just go with the porting and some head work. You will be surprised at the difference it will make. If it is not good enough for you there is always more porting [Disturbed]

P.S. get a Honda [Wink]

For less than a $1000 you can get right around 60HP, which won't be a long rod stroker motor, but it will be an incredible dune machine. If after riding that it doesn't hack it, then there are a boat load of good tuners who can build you a long rod stroker motor with 80hp+.

raptor727, You said for a 1000 bucks I could get 60 horsepower but, you did not say how. I have all the things that are on the outside of the motor such as 2-1 carb kit with 35 carb, stage IV head, Toomey T-5s, and Timing plate. I was just thinking if I was going to get it ported for now then if I was going to get a stroker or 420 kit later then I would need to get it ported again and I would have wasted all that money.

It is a two part shop. The mechanic side is Atomic Racing. Glenn does all the work. He can build you a monster. He is the best around.

Also, dont forget something. the bigger the motor you build for duning, the less duning you will actually be able to do. GAS MILLAGE my friend. Those monster motors suck gasoline. Youll be able to go out olds, make five runs then go home and thats it. Trust me I know, and I have just a built 350.

The porting for the long rod motor can be very similar to your factory bore and crank Banshee. Make sure when you talk to your tuner of choice that you inform him of your longer term plans in regards to porting, so the work they do can be easily reworked on the new motor.

You will surely be 60HP+ with the proper port job and rejetting.
