I think they are only for the gopro HD hero. If you got an older one or a non-hd it prob wont have it...

Sources say there will be a new model in mid 2011 that will have a built in LCD.

I have been watching the market for HD cameras, I have the gopro hd and love it but the market is having new less expensive things everyday. Soon this will be cheaper and better. Here are a couple of cameras which are cool and waaaay cheap.

I just ordered mine. Sweet. I likey that you can down load the new softwear and have one button on and off.

now all i need i a damn remote on and off button. this will help in aimming but i still would like to turn it on before taking off so i dont waste 2 minutes of time getting in.

ive been messing w onboard cams for about 5 years now, long before gopro came out. i am blown away by the image quality and their duribility. NO other cam i have had or currently have stand up to what i put them through, the gopro is almost indestructible. i can also put the image side by side with my 5k sony hd production cam and you can barely tell the difference. there are less expensive options but NO-ONE has anything as good as this right now at this price point.
id break both of those first day. ive sent back 4 contour hd cams already this year and they are way higher quality than those. the housing its in is what makes the gopro so tough!

I should have ordered straight from Gopro I guess. So much for using it next weekend!

Got my tracking number. Webb site said on truck for delivery tonight. Ordered mine on the first.

I got mine yesterday.
It works just like they said it would.
I needed the firmware upgrade.
GoPro has video of how to upgrade the firmware on their web site and I am good to go.
Also the firmware fixes a few bugs and adds some new features to the camera.

i ordered mine straight from GoPro and it took 5 days. it comes with 4 covers that keep the screen protected while filming. lightweight and its nice to review video and point the camera where you want.

Got mine from the big brown truck yesterday. Having a problem downloading the firmwear. It come's in as a zip file but then when you try to unzip it it tell's you that your not authorized. Got and email into GoPro now waiting for a reply. When you plug in the new back if your camera is not updated it will lock it up. Had to remove the battery to reboot it.

Ordered mine on the 8th and no emails or any contact telling me when it will ship.... sent an email tonight.. we shall see

I'm going to have to call the hot line to get this deal fixed. Still can't get the zip file to open. So I still don't have the new viewfinder fixed yet. Them people are sure slow to answer you emails.

Dont order from this site. I ordered mine on the 1st. Sent them an email asking what the deal was. They told me they didnt know when I would get it. I had to cancel my order. Guess I will just order one directly from GoPro.

I finally got ahold of someone there today and they could not give me an answer as to when they were going to get anymore in stock. They said the had them in stock when I ordered mine, but sometimes the orders get shuffled or some chit like that and mine did not get shipped before they ran out. I just ordered from gopro website, which says "IN STOCK", so we will see. Kinda sucks that it ends up costing me an extra $25, and almost 2 weeks! Lesson learned.

I think that was like the 10th or so. The lady today said they have been out since at least the 7th, when mine should have shipped, but didn't.
Sounds like directly from gopro is the way to go if you want them. I have also talked to a couple gopro dealers and they are not happy because gopro is selling on there website, but won't ship any stock to them or give them a date when they can get them???

I never could get the upgrade to unzip when it came in. The people at GoPro sent me an email with the upgrade as an attachment and that fix it. All I had to do is drop and drag it on to the SD card on the camera and it was good to go. Works real trick. Now I can see when it is recording. Play back is is nice to.

When will you get? I am still waiting on the other site and I will cancel if they havnt got a shipping date yet.. let me know

presidents day trip my screen stopped working. i can tell a small amount of light turns on when i hit the play button but i get nothing on the screen. i was able to remove the screen and take video but have not hooked it up to my desktop to see if i can fix it or not. damn when will i learn not to buy the first new products before the bugs ar worked out.

That's not what I wanted to here mega. What do you think happened? Were you using the fully enclosed back or the one that has the slots?

fully enclosed. i shot a video came back to camp and watched it on the lcd screen then swapped sd cards and the screen would not work. i was bale to take more video but not see it on the screen. i will have to call gopro and see what they think.

Sorry to hijack, but didn't want to start a whole new thread. Which version of the Gopro can I use without upgrading my computer? I run Win XP pro.

List computer chip, how much ram and video card... that is the most important parts I think. I run a athlon fx51 2.2g chip with 1g of memory and a OC6800 card... video is sketchy when I play and editing is not easy on it either... prolly a min of 2 to 3g of memory on up a good card and maybe a dual core chip.. just guessing here..

a little update on my LCD screen.

i used it once and reviewed the video then took another vodeo and tried to view it. the LCD screen was blank i only seen a little background light show up. sent an email to gopro where i bought it and they responded 2 days later ang told me to make sure i have the latest firmware and try to reset the LCD screen. i did all of that and still nothing. i then replied to Gopro with my findings. i was then told to send the LCD screen and my camera to them so they can figure it out. i told them i would either take a full refund for the screen or they wait untill i am done using the camera 2 weeks later. they agreed and i will send my camera and screen in to them in 2 weeks.

there are lot of these happening, sounds like a bad batch of them. atleast 20 people on there wit the issue. me thinks its bigger than just a small glitch. either way i just ordered one anyway. and the new 3d rig too!
