OK, I have the little battery status meter on my monitor panel, which I dont think is very accurate since I can charge brand new 6v's and read 13+ volts on a Fluke meter, but my meter on the monitor reads just "OK". Like half way on the meter. So. I want to change it out with an LCD readout that reads actual volts, not red, ok, green! I looked around online, but cant seem to find? Anyone know whre to find one? I need one that is about 1" x 2-1/2" to go in the hole where the stock meter is now. Any ideas? I tried Radioshack, LOL, all the sell now is cell phones and crap. I even tried Camping World, they said dealer only???? WTF?

This isnt that accurate either but its better than that panel.
Click to view attachment its at 14+ volts because of the solar panel is cranking right now...

The BEST way to know whats really going on with your volts and amp usage is get a monitor that interrupts one of the poles of the batter and moniters everything that passes through it.

This looks promising

You can get one from a golf cart place. They sell them so you know when it's almost time to push the electric carts. I think they are around $50, but I haven't looked in a long time. It's just a small screen that you can mount in a dash or cabinet.

i bought one of these from walmart , you have to plug it in a 12v socket , not very fancy , but it works . tim

Had to stop by Wallyworld on my way home today, so I looked around and found this. Similar to what Tim showed, but seperated from plug by a wire. So, I might just hard wire it to stock battery monitor and put next to it. It has 2 sided tape on back already. It was $15. Here is a couple pics I tried it in my truck. Only bad thing is it also monitors alternator, and a red light comes on unless engine is running. That could be fixed with some black paint! LOL

I was thinking about the same type of monitor.
If you hard wire it remember it will ALWAYS be a draw unless you put a switch in the power feed. just a thought maybe a momentary switch so it only reads when you push the button...
