Well, I would normally say rainbow, but I don't want anybody to get the wrong idea.

I recently bought all new plastic for my bike, and now I am sick of too much yellow. I would like to do some graphics, but don't know the best way of doing it. Will paint work? If so, what kind of paint should I use, and how do I prepare the plastics.
Should I use "stickers". I would like to do something a little custom, and it just seems that I would be limited if I were to have to use a stick-on graphic.

Doesn't that suck!? When I was thinking about sand rail graphics, I came to the same realization--that the rainbow has been hijacked (like the term "environmentalist")! [Mad]

Yeah, my buddies and I were thinking about starting a campain to take back the rainbow. We have t-shirt designs and everything. Do you think that anybody would like to join our camplain?

It'd be tough to come up with a way to do it without seeming like you're slamming gays. So you'd have to find people who are willing to be politically incorrect in an age in which it's damn near illegal to hurt someone's feelings. [Roll Eyes]

I was thinking about this the other day. When I was in high school, I had a denim jacket with a graphic painted on the back from the cover of Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon. These days, even that might make people wonder. [Frown] [Mad] [Angry Fire]

No, its not like I really want to openly slam people who's sexual preferences are different than mine, I just don't like that they have associted the rainbow with something that it is not.

So, back to the original question...any thoughts on how the put a little color on plastic. Do you know if they can be painted or not?
KingGlamis
Yes, quad plastic can be painted. No, I don't know how. [Big Grin] I think (key word "think") that the plastic needs to be sanded first to help the paint adhere, and I think that the paint should be flexible so it doesn't crack or chip when the plastic flexes. I don't know what kind of paint they use. Maybe check out web sites of paint manufacturers or custom painters. Use www.google.com and type in the words you are looking for info about, like "painting plastic."

last time I checked it was something like 500 bucks to get a good custom paint job on quad plastics. They use a special type's of paint that flexes without cracking. It's worth it if you can afford it...
