When the mags do a DUNE shootout and the Z400 wins over the Raptor, Banshee, and DS650?!? Everyone knows how much horsepower the sand robs from any machine. These guys are smoking something and I want some.

They picked the ltz 400 as "the most fun" and "best value". I believe the price factor played a large roll in these catagories (considering it's about a $1000 less than a raptor). However "best handling & suspension" went to the ds650 and "Best overall powerband" went to the raptor. "Best acceleration & drag race winner" went to the banshee. It seems to me this article was pretty fair and in no way biased towards any one manufacturer.

*NOTE-all quads were tricked out by alba performance with mods such as pipes, air filter, pro-flow air intake, custom graphics and tag handlebars.

i love mine,but it is detuned and a little mild.i think you could wake it up with the extra $ you would have to pay for the raptor,and have a better bike!! my 3 cents.

My thoughts on the Magazine issue. I think they ride way to many quads to judge correctly. Sure the KFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFX 400 is a good bike but there is no way in hell it spanks the RAPTOR in everything except power and speed. There is something to be said about just cracking the throttle open and be able to pick the front end up in the 1st 3 gears !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was riding in the mountains this weekend any pothole I came across just a quick stab of the gas and the front end just goes skyward. I LOVE IT!!!!! Then point it up any hill and just feel the POWER just take you to the TOP!!!!!!!!!!!!! I just thought about telling you the scoop from a guy who doesn't work at a MAGAZINE!!!!!!!!!!!!

the Z400 and KFX400 are both great all around bikes, but they cant touch a raptor, my cousin has yoshimura full exhaust and cant touch my dads raptor, my girlfriend was actually dissapointed with the new suzuki, especially with all the hype it got and against a raptor.

Even though im a banshee lover, the raptor is the next best thing, they are freakin monsters.

I agree with WFO WR500, I like your style too MXgirl.

Wait till she gets to work tomorrow, Chummin. She'll tell you more than you need to know about those bikes in 3-4 posts.

I would have bought a raptor when they first came out if I could have afforded one. I'm glad I waited till the 400 came out though. Although I'd ride a raptor any day, I think the 400 suits me better. I'm a small girl who doesn't weigh a whole lot, so the smaller quad is a better fit for me. And since I can finance it through my paycheck with zero interest and a hefty discount, I'm extreamly satisfied. Also, I don't really race it so the 400cc's work fine with me. Yes I agree that the raptor would spank any 400 for that matter...but I prefer the 400 because it's what suits me best.

Actually, it didn't beat it in everything. If you READ the article it only won two categories, "best value" and "most fun". Like I said before, I think it got the edge in these categories because it was the cheapest quad out of all the ones they tested. Most bang for the buck.

P.S. and I know the difference between a kfx700 and a kfx400. If you go to my member gallery you would clearly see that I marked my aviator image as a kxf700, there are several pictures of it. I thought it would be a cool image because it's tricked out and looks pretty *****in... Just because we are talking about the 400 does not mean that I meant that picture to be a kxf400. Just to clear up any confusion and what not.

Cool. I love my um...kiwi too! I just got new tires and custom wheels from my friend at quad tech and I can't wait to use them. The wheels are powdercoated black and water cut. Should make my kiwi look pretty mean.
