Ok all, what should I do?
I occasionally get people asking about my plate on my truck (how I got it, would I sell it, etc..) so this last weekend I was getting gas at the local QT and a guy comes up to me and starts asking me the usual questions and then asks if I want to sell it? I said no, as it took me 4 years to get the former owner of the plate to give it to me and I would never be able to get anything like it again. He tells me to give him a price and I say if I were to sell it, it wouldn't be cheap. He tells me to think it over, come up with a price, and give him a call if I am interested. He gives me his number and leaves. What should I do? How much would you ask? I know I will never be able to replace it, but some cash would be nice right now!
So I am looking for a yes or no, and how much!

Really??? "DUNE" and people wanna buy it? I would tell him 500$ and then go put DOONE on your truck its cool I guess but people trying to buy it thats nuts!!!

My wife got me a personalized plate for my trailer for Xmas (surfndun ) and it got ripped off within 3 months . Personally I'm not real big on vanity plates, and if yours are so great maybe you should sell it before someone just rips them off. BTW in CA. if they steal both plates you can't replace them with the same plate.

Ask for an amount that would make a difference for you. I would start at $1500

If you get it replaced, tack weld the bolt behind nut on the back, or just mess threads up with a hammer.

Sounds like he should go to the DMV and tell the one plate was stolen to have a spare. Then he would be covered if they were stolen.

mine is DUNE ME not sure it would be worth 500 to sell... how would you even do that? do you tell the dmv to reassign or somehting?

I have BND4SND and SANDTYS, never had any mention about mine, Had the BND4SND stolen(they will not replace for liability risks), I still have the other BND4SND from the front(anyone wanna buy it). I don't get why the big deal with DUNE. I would sell and get yourself DUNER
