I heard from the Oregon dune Rangers that California after the 1st of the year will have a state wide noise ordanace to 97 dbls?? What do you all think of that?? I think its a good thing because pipe makers will now try hard to lake products to meet that standard. So places like Oregon with there 93dbls like will be easier to get pipes that meet the requirments. Just my thought on the subject. I heard that they will issue tickets with any violation.

I've come to believe that only a few pipes offer any real performance gain anyway. And then, at best just miniscule performance gain,, barely noticeable.
Most 4 stroke pipes are just noisy tubes.
Only a few makers really have engineered, tuned pipes.
Yoshi, FMF, GYT and a small handfull of others are genuinely engineered,, the rest just welded up noisy pipes with stuffing.
I put my stock back on and enjoy a quiet ride.

Some OHV areas in Northern Ca. already have decible limits such as Hollister. Through Ego***** in the YZ400/426/450 forum at thumpertalk.com, I learned that even the so called "quiet core" aftermarket pipes don't meet the decible level that the state is requiring. I believe Hollister is 92 decibles at the moment. He had to get inventive by welding baffles and drilling holes to get his "quet" pipe to pass. The check points are voluntary right now but it looks like they will be mandatory after the first of the year. Damn nazis.
