When I got up this morning and came here to read the two posts I am following, I knew what I would find..the endless petty bullshit between two or three people, and then made even worse by a few others posters that have nothing to do with the issue but still jumped in anyway.
I've calmed down somewhat...but at that moment I damn near resigned from both DUNERS and the ASA. This crap disgusts me on so many levels... because I find myself feeling helpless to do a damn thing to stop it.
I didn't join these orgs to go through this bullshit. Some of you, and you know damn well who you are, need a swift kick in the ass.
I'm going to stop here...because I have an overwhelming desire to put names to my anger...
But then I would be just like you.

Frankie every once in a while you need to walk around the corner and get a fresh beer
It is silly that people feel the need to carry baggage but that's just the way they are! It's not going to change.

This is why I'm primarily in 'lurk-only' mode in here.

A couple of other things to yell about..
The complete and total lack of professionalism by people who should know better...people with positions in both orgs.
One or two people apologized to VOR and me for letting the thread deteriorate...
Why in the hell would anyone apologize to us? We aren't the ones that bore the brunt of the petty bullshit. The offending parties should apologize to each other, make the peace, and tell the people that have nothing to do with your personal issues to butt the hell out and shut the eff up. Stop talking behind peoples back. End it now.
I have read countless posts that were relevant...only to be ruined by one little coment that had no bearing on the subject, but was a jab at someone else.
Why...???
Why do people that I thought were smart act so stupidly...???

Because we are humans. We feel threatened(not personally) so we respond. When someone makes a claim that has no justification, we respond. When someone makes claims against those we trust, we respond. That doesnt make it right, just makes it happen. We are not perfect, nor do we profess to be. We are human, we make mistakes.
When someone threatens me personally...I give them my address.
To all who have been non-participating veiwers of this latest rant session, I am sorry you had to go thru it. I personally will try to do better in the future.

The only thing more I have to say is I hope nobody disapears from this board. I really enjoy the feed back we get from the info that is shared here.
BUT we all need to work together! we are fighting for the same thing! and the more info that our leaders have from each other needs to be chaneled twords the people that are trying to take our DUNES away!

The issues of Mother G are so very dear to all of us. It seems like we've been together forever, and fighting the same fight forever, which in a way is true. Tom, you be correct, we are human (except Slap, he's a stick), and we do make mistakes...
There has been quite a lot of action in this forum, and Slap thinks it is a good thing. Yes, there have been jabs taken at each other, but something is happening that Slap is very impressed with; ORG's and their reps coming together discussing and debating their differences of opinions on issues. No, not everybody is going to agree, and people have a right to defend themselves (as expected) if they feel statements are made without fact and with intentions of defaming an individual or group; the nature of the political beast. Would Slap like to see less of that? Absolutely. However, Slap can honestly say that he has learned more these last few weeks in here than he has all year long on issues pertaining to Mother G, and it is due to the fact that issues are being discussed by people in positions of let's say, authority, who are representing their particular groups.
Are Bulletin Boards a good way to communicate with people? Slap really do think so, especially in situations like this…Yeah, letters are good too, but this is more real time and right now, and it can involve even the bystander…Slap sure hopes that nobody leaves cuz this has been very educational not only for Slap, but for most of us, and even those who don’t get much involved in these issues.
ASA, DUNERS, Slap don’t know if you’s got issues with each other, and Slap don’t wanna know. But ever since the announcement of the protest, there has been slapptacious interaction here between duners discussing issues who normally wouldn’t be interacting together. Now that we are on the same field, let’s try to let hostilities go, pull the personal punches, and keep the issues at full debate. Slap likes to see an org take a stance on the big issues and discussed. The people are watching; it is a good thing.
