nice light, I'm impressed, but the strobe didn't agree with me to well. The dumbass next to me, decided he would shine it in his eyes to "see how bright it is", well his eyes immediately watered, and he said man that thing is so bright. Yeah, I told you it was....

what kind of "work" do you do with a light like that?
jchappy
Work with the GOV.
I use to fix these at work
The bulb alone was 250.00 and you could not touch the bulb with your bare hands, the oils on your hand could explode the bulb when it got to temp.

Cool thread. Unfortunately due to finances I haven't bought a new flashlight in well over a year. My daily-carry light is a Fenix PD30. Mine is an older version with slightly less lumens than the current one (I think mine is either 230 or 240 lumens), but that's plenty for most tasks. I have a few 500 lumen lights and one 700 lumen light. They're fun to mess around with when camping but for most things the PD30 is plenty of light.

And the light pictured here was a silly project I did that I called Frankenspot. I put a 100W Halogen bulb designed for 12 volts and overdrove it on a Dewalt 18V battery pack. Holy crap it was bright! But not very easy to carry around.

KingGlamis
To give you an idea of Frankenspot, the tree in the picture is 50 yards away from the camera (doesn't look like it but I measured it). In this first shot this is a 500 lumen light...

And this next photo shows Frankenspot on the same night, same distance to the tree, yet it looks like it wants to light the tree on fire. laughing.gif

I like to get out my dive light when its in my truck to use at times. UK Light canon HID its pretty damn bright will put the LEDs to shame. Its more of a flood beam but does very good and beam is useful.Only prob is if i drop it theres 100 bucks for the bulb.In 10 years it only took one tumble.

little update here... I ordered one of these redline's.. I also bought one of the ones from Home Depot. A Coast I think..

The Redline... $24.00... The Coast $40... Redline is bright, but not as bright as the Coast.. They are close but the Coast has a whiter light and has more reach... But, the Redline when opened up to a wide pattern smokes the Coast. When you widen out the beam on the coast there is a circle shadow in it. The Redline is completely clear and opens up to a very wide beam.. It will pretty much light up a hole side of a truck..

For the price, both are very impressive..

I got something on the way!!...... your all going down!
