I just bought a KFX 400 and I am looking for an exhaust pipe for it. Any suggestions??

Also can I just install the silincer and not install new jetting or filter?

Any time you free up the exhaust, you will have leaned out the air fuel ratios in most any non-computer controlled engine.

The 400 motor from Suzuki (in your Kawi) responds very well to the following basic mods: Pipe, jet kit and air intake mod. Trinity and Yoshi are very popular (I have the Yoshi) pipes and the K&N jet kit is pretty much standard (you will run a 152.5 or so main at Glamis). The air intake, just get a filter kit, leave the lid on and remove the snorkel and you will really see a solid difference in that motor's performance.

I just bought the Suzuki. Thanks for the info.why do you leave the lid on? what paddles work the best?
40 PSI
Leaving the lid on just helps keep things a bit cleaner when riding non-sand. I should talk, I have a 100% open air system in my Raptor [Smile] .

Best tires for Glamis for your Suzuki Z400 are 20x10x8 8 Paddle Skat Trak Haulers on Douglas Blue Label Wheels and Sand Tires up front (your choice). If you prefer a V shaped paddle in the rear then get the Skat Trak as well. Lightweight is KEY in the dunes, especially on a 400cc 4-Stroke. You really sacrifice performance with the heavier all-around tires like Gecko's in the dunes. Sure you can run them down the pavement at 30mph, but I don't go to Glamis to run down the pavement at 30mph, that is why I have knobbies!

thanks again! what's the difference 20x10x10 vs. 20x10x8. also is this the correct tire for a rapter with the same mods? thanks Todd

Hey todd the differance between 20x10x10, 20x10x8 is the rim size the last number is the rim. I run 8's on all my bike for more space between the rim and the ground. I live in Oregon and there is logs, rocks etc... that you can hit with your tires and not really know it. I've seen alot of bent rims so I bought 8's rather than 10's or 12's. Just my thoughts. Have fun with your new toy

The best bang for the buck is this kit from alba:
