From camping with all of my buddies, and having to wait for them to gas up, I can tell you they are slow
Wheelie Bar
I think I have a way to speed things WAAYY UP!
I hate waiting on people to fuel up before they go one a ride!

My 12v pumps 7 gals a min. Really. aero tanks in corona built my station. the pump was 250 bucks
RobC
Mine, '03 Warrior, is very slow. But never had a problem with the pump. The newer ones have a much better, faster pump. Problem is my buddy, with the newer pump, has had to rebuild it already.

I got my trailer fuel station from these guys:

http://store.jandsrvparts.com/fpk1201.html

Its very fast - like being at the gas station at 8GPM

I looked at some that were twice as fast (15 GPM) from a place called Tractor supply

I looked and called every RV wrecker in CA and AZ to find a used setup, but they wanted more than new and none would give me pictures or dimensions unless I bought it first.

BTW - Aero tanks makes custom Fuel stations - they are absolutely the best, but not cheap - like $1500 total
They used to be in Corona - now they are in Riverside
Wheelie Bar
so is 4 GPM fast with a 3/8'' line?
Kevin
the pump i have for pumping fuel out of a drum is 500gph
rayspeed
I dont think you will get 4gpm out of a 3/8" system... more like two gallons a minute if it has an automotive type electric fuel pump which are usually rated for about 110 gallons per hour. Which is fine for quads and such but leaves you wanting with anything else.

my parents have a sports trailer. i dont know the gpm but to fill a 5 gallon can it takes about 1-2 minutes but mainly it also depends on how full the tank is too. if it is almost empty the last 10-15 gallons seems like it takes much longer.
Wheelie Bar
would you try it?
3/8" NPT
brass gears
socalrzr
I would like to put a fuel station in my 20 carson box trailer, but dont want to spend a ton of money on it. What do you think it would cost to do it? Is it hard to mount the tank? Any imput or pictures would be great. Thanks
Wheelie Bar
I cant help with the cost of the tank, line, or the fuel gun.... but this pump is $175 and is covered with a Lifetime Warranty
if it ever fails, I will buy it back, or get you a new one.. whatever works for you

Is that pump rated for explosive fuel?
Brass gears are safe, but some pumps use the fuel to cool the motor like Aeromotive and in tank pumps do - If the motor is not explosion proof, its a bad day...
I have seen someone use a Diesel pump for gas and doesn't work - just cavitates the fuel and then the seal starts leaking.

I used a Holley Blue Pump on my Santek Fuel station and it flowed at best 2 gallons a minute

Look at Walt's RV in Fontana, CA. they usually have tanks there, about $1 per gallon if I remember right. They are usually take outs from other RV/Toy haulers. They are hit and miss, surplus too, but lots of stuff there
Wheelie Bar
says its good for fuels, and hot oils.... not really sure about Gasoline
rayspeed
It looks like it does not have any kind of pressure relief built into it and if thats the case it might complicate the install somewhat and add some cost. To me fuel and oils does not equate to gasoline as flamible and combustable liquids need different precautions. Also most pumps in the two gpm range draw five to seven amps so this thing would probably draw twice that needing some more stout wiring.

I need to sop by there when I go to Parker Pumper on Wednesday. I need to get a 48" wide door for my enclosed and heard they have great deals and tons of inventory on hand. I'll probably check out the fuel tanks/pumps while I'm there. Would love to add that to my enclosed as well. Their web site is 'under constructon' but the phone # works and they say they are open for business.
