I am getting a bunch of new crap for my quad today
+3" a-arms
+3" swing arm
Works triple rate front shocks w/remote res.
Works fully adjustable rear shock w/remote res.
+1 steering stem
My question is: with such a long swingarm will I still be able to get the front end off the ground?
Does anyone here have a 4stroke with an +3 extended swingarm?
I wouldn't have gotten it if it hadn't been a package deal. But I do like the idea of the simpler chain adjustment it offers. My only conscern is that I wont be able to lift the front when I need to clear on obsticle.
what do you guys think?

I wouldn't think you would need any more than a +2. My friend has a +2 on his yfz450 and it's perfect for the amount of power he has. Even if your z400 has a bored engine it will be about the same as the yamaha. +2 should be perfect. Try the different websites and ask around www.z400central.com, www.thumpertalk.com. Also +3 on the a-arms. If you ride mainly in the dunes go with +1 or 2.

Did you get that used set that was for sell on here? um it will be really hard to lift the front end when needed, lots of the pros run a +1 1/4" swingarm and thats with 470 kits

I have a +4 on my raptor, I can still wheelie at will, its a little harder and I have to get the nose up higher to ride them for awhile, but it is possible

I forgot to mention that I have no motor mods to my bike, only mods engine wise are alba stage 3 pipe kit, one tooth smaller sprocket in the front,

Yeah Shocker, I got the set up from Bob. By the way, I saw his machine and it is BAD ASS. It's got every bell and whistle.
Screamin, I have -1 on the front sprocket too. One of the best mods I have added IMO.
I'm not too conscerned about the +3's all around. Hell, if it doesn't feel good I'll just change it up.
What I am most excited about are the shocks. I hear that they will really change the ride of my bike. We'll see. I know what I'm doing this weekend.

kool, that was a great deal, when i put my +2 a-arms on i felt so much safer and i still do, but when i get some shocks i fell feel 3 times safer and better, i havent seen a +3 swinger on the Z but i think its gonna look cool and the shock is gonna work so good, you love it, i have yet put on a 13 front, im thinking about it, i would have to change from 13 to 14 when i ride track during the summer, did ya change the rear sprocket?

yeah, +2 in the rear. I got the idea from Chumin
I'm so stoked right now. I wish I didn't have to work so I can start the rebuild process. I still need to get a new rear axel. I think I'm gonn go with a +4

Just make sure you sit tubgirl as far back as possible. You'll get the front wheels up.
