I have a buddy with an 02 Warrior & an 03 Raptor that wants to start racing at Elsinore. He bought new kill switches but does not have service manuals. The instructions for the switch say to tap into the coil feed wire for most bikes, but if you have a battery & charging system you need to tap into the stator trigger wire. Help!! does anyone out there have a manual that shows wiring schematics or have experience with these two bikes.
SHOCKER
Shovel_master just did his, on my Z i have to ground the short wire to a bolt, and then the long wire connects to the pulse wire comming from the coil
Shovel Boy
ok heres what ya do!, first the coil is uncer the left front fender....follow the spark plug wire...its orange!!.

1: Mount the switch on a good area on the handel bars

2: cut the orange wire on the coil in half, so you should have a little more than an inch on each side of the half...strip about half of it bare...strip about half of the LONG wire on the switch so that its bare....now lead the long wire from the switch down the the coil and the cut orange wire...twist all of the ends together so that they make one end..if you can solder it, solder it...i didnt solder it at first cuz i didnt have anything to solder it...but now i did...if you solder it or dont solder it...just wrap eletical tape around it really good...there you go!

3: Now for the Short Wire...its a ground wire...cut the wire so that it can reach your handel bar clamp...not too much because it wont work and it will be to tight...you just dont want a long wire messing you up all of the time..strip that end so its like 1 inch bare....take one of the handel bar clamp bolts out about half an inch...wrap the bare wire around the screw so that when you tighten it down it will compress the wire and it will ground it! now put eletrical tape around that nut good and neatly so it looks decent! hehe make sure there is no dirt, grime, or dust on the bolt or anything...clean it first!!

4. This should work! thats what I did and it works great, if it doesnt tell me..im not very good at teaching or explaining things so I tried my best to help...if you have any other questions ASK ASK ASK!! lol...and if you can make it out to lake elsinore this saturday or chaparral tomorrow i can do it for you in like 10-20 min...

Mr*sandman
WE went, saw & had a great time. My 9 year old wants to race now. Sorry I didn't look any of the peeps up but was busy most of the day. My buddy's kid raced the warrior & had a hell of a time on the rythem section but gave it a hell of a try. My other buddy & his daughter ran the Yamaha 450 & had a great time. She finished last both races but did pretty good considering it was her first time. Anyways will probably catch you guys next time it was more fun than I anticipated.
SHOCKER
You guys had the red and white blazer right? i saw your friend on the warrior, we were running the track after the races, hey if ya guys want to race this weekend theres dirt days of summer on saturday the 10th, me and shovel_master were practicing after the races, i wasnt able to race do to i poped my tire the first race, what race was your friends in? trons daughter raced on a blue yfz in the womens class,

this weekend the 10th is part if the dirt days of summer sponsored by douglas wheels, this is a great series, they have lots of prizes and lots of well known pro will be ther like lory ellis, after the races there will be a barbeque and then a freestyle demo by h-bomb films, which means jon guetter might be there to pull off a back flip, so im going its gonna be fun
Shovel Boy
yeah i saw your friend...was he #11?? cuz if thats him..DAMN...HES FAST!! ll
Mr*sandman
Yea the kid on the Warrior was #11, & we all thought he did pretty good considering the equipment. His dad is contemplating letting him ride the Raptor next time. We won't be at this weekend's race, going to Vegas for a bach. party, yahoo. Will definately catch you guys next time though. Oh one last thing, I was really impressed with the sportsmanship from most of the people out there. The gal that was with us that rode in the womens class was just learning the track & finished last. But right after the race a little short blonde came over & shook her hand and told her that she did a great job. Made her feel a lot better about the day, excellant attitude. And Kudos to the gal riding the Kawasaki, her crash in the rythm section was vicious but she got back up & walked away, (pretty sore I'm sure).
SHOCKER
i think the name of the blonde was julie if ya want to know, oh and he chick on the green kfx400 didnt crash, it was brittany bloodworth #23, she crashed in the first race my race she hit pretty bad, but she got up and finished the race and then signed over to the womens class and did 2 more races, shes pretty good and cool, i talk to her on exriders.com, she is also racing this weekend, oh andthe next race of the thunder in the vally series is the 24th, ill be at that 1
