What are the causes of a "ripper" type fire?

Is this a loaded question? sraptor.gif Are we talking about the same type of "ripper?"

To be sure, I will use it in several phrases as we would say at our station. icon_cool.gif
In present tense, we say "that fire is ripping!" In past tense we say "that fire was a ripper!"

In the causes...typically, they can be accidental caused by unattended food, candles, electrical, ect. Sometimes the cause is arson.
In this case, considering the great distance of Dunes Edge to any Fire Station, what may have been a relatively small fire in the city, became quite large. Hope no one was injured and it doesn't slow down Eric and the Dunes Edge staff from continuing business.

Thanks for posting this information, you know how stories get exaggerated! Everyone and dogs are safe. A few items were lost, 1 Extreme Buggy, Kyle's quad and 3 wheeler and our 2 boys quads. Erics boat may have been lost, not too sure on that yet! Kyle is on his way to storage now. This is Janna writing for Anja and Eric (I am Anjas niece living with them),

thank you for all the concerns and well wishes.
Just for everybody to know what really happened.
We were inside the house, Eric was taking a nap in the bedroom, Anja and I were watching TV in the living room.
We heard a booming sound outside, didn't think nothing out of it because it was blowing 40 milers per hour wind and we thought one of the planters fell over.
Then the TV started flickering. I asked Anja does she smell smoke too. She said no but got up and walked to the front door. Anja seen smoke coming out the door, ran outside to the french doors by the living room to see the roof of the house in flames. She ran back inside and yelled "Move, get out, the house is burning"
Eric got up. Anja and I went out the french door to get to safety. Eric stayed in the house and rescued the dogs into the backyard, there he got trapped because of the fence. Mike from Sweet Marie's had just left Glamis and with his quick thinking he cut a hole in the fence and Daniel and Pedro (the way thank you for the shoes!) from Alberts RV drove their truck to the fence to get all five dogs in the truck and Eric to safety.

To this point we still don't know what caused the fire. None of the trailer has been damaged.

THANKS to everyone who happend to be there at the time:

Mike from Sweet Marie's
Phillipe from Camp'n'Style who watched the dogs for hours until the fire was out
Daniel and Pedro from Albert's RV
Our neighboors for water and food
Dave Trout who gave Eric his shoes
Brian's wife who took of her flip flops to Anja
Mike Gilmore who stayed with Eric into the night while we took the dogs to his wife's houes in Brawley
And all the people who were on the way to Glamis and stopped to help us

Also a huge THANK YOU to all the people who sent us care packages:

The Mobil 1 theme car headed home today for some maintenance or forever?

We met them a few weeks ago with our long hair "Jackson".

Hope your incident somehow turns into a positive one for next season.

Who owned the Mobi 1 car?? Was it insured???

We remember meeting you guys and your "Jackson". Unfortunately, this was Mobil 1's last ride home. Nothing on the car is salvageable. We will be back though. Take care.

We met them for the first time at Roadrunner around 3/18/11 walking our dog.

I have seen the MOBIL 1 car there a few times in the past, he was camping with the VIAGRA car.

Was a big coincidence, I was there the day of the fire and saw your ride afterward on Sunday next to the house.

Then back to work this week, and I end up driving right next to you taking the car home.

Good luck cant wait to see what you come back with!

That car is beautiful Eric! We talked it over and i'm too gun shy of doing a 2 seater. I've always talked about doing one, but we entertain way too much to have just 2 seats. I need to see how insurance pans out before pulling the trigger on anything. Should know in a few weeks. Keep your fingers crossed!
