I just got off the phone with Anja. All the trailers at Dunes Edge Storage are fine. It was only Anja's and Eric's House that burned (to the ground). They literally have nothing left. But Anja did call to tell me to tell anyone who has a trailer there, that it is fine!!! Only their trailer and house burned.

Glad to hear everyone is ok. I had my house go up a couple years ago, and it is a very tough situation to deal with. Make sure to let them know the good people of gd.com are here and if they need anything to let us know.

If and when they find lodging I would be happy to donate several household items but would need GD delivery to help assist in getting it to them..

I can donate some items or clothing. Anyone want to find out what size she wears and maybe one person to take items to them?

I just hung up with my ex husband Mike who is out there and good friends with Erik. He said the high winds knocked down a power line right on top of the house. Kyle drove out to check out the damage and be there for the investigation. Anja is about my size Mike said so Im going to gather some stuff up, not sure about the shoe size but Mike said he will ask when he brings his motor home back and see what they need.

This is Janna writing for Anja and Eric (I am Anjas niece living with them),
thank you for all the concerns and well wishes.
Just for everybody to know what really happened.
We were inside the house, Eric was taking a nap in the bedroom, Anja and I were watching TV in the living room.
We heard a booming sound outside, didn't think nothing out of it because it was blowing 40 milers per hour wind and we thought one of the planters fell over.
Then the TV started flickering. I asked Anja does she smell smoke too. She said no but got up and walked to the front door. Anja seen smoke coming out the door, ran outside to the french doors by the living room to see the roof of the house in flames. She ran back inside and yelled "Move, get out, the house is burning"
Eric got up. Anja and I went out the french door to get to safety. Eric stayed in the house and rescued the dogs into the backyard, there he got trapped because of the fence. Mike from Sweet Marie's had just left Glamis and with his quick thinking he cut a hole in the fence and Daniel and Pedro (the way thank you for the shoes!) from Alberts RV drove their truck to the fence to get all five dogs in the truck and Eric to safety.
To this point we still don't know what caused the fire. None of the trailer has been damaged.
THANKS to everyone who happend to be there at the time:
Mike from Sweet Marie's
Phillipe from Camp'n'Style who watched the dogs for hours until the fire was out
Daniel and Pedro from Albert's RV
Our neighboors for water and food
Dave Trout who gave Eric his shoes
Brian's wife who took of her flip flops to Anja
Mike Gilmore who stayed with Eric into the night while we took the dogs to his wife's houes in Brawley
And all the people who were on the way to Glamis and stopped to help us
Also a huge THANK YOU to all the people who sent us care packages:

This is a really hard thing to deal with. A few years ago my parents house burned down. They had lived there for over 30 years. They lost everything pictures probably being the worst loss. They are happy now and doing better than ever. As hard as it is you have to just thank God that everybody is alright. And remember that everything else can be replaced. God bless all involved.

Hello Eric, Anja, & Janna, it's Brian here.
Hope you are all finding yourselves getting along well after your loss. After coming back from a long soak in the hot springs that day, we did not expect to find you all outside when we approached the intersection. Hopefully some of the items we left were helpful in getting you through this tough time. We are all hopeful that your end result is a positive one. Thanks for coming out to BBQ earlier in the week, enjoyed your company. By the way, let Mobil 1 know I saw him pulling his ride home today while I was working in the Palm Springs area. Tell him we have the other "Jackson" dog. He was probably wondering what the guy in the black Impala was doing taking pics.

Very sad today when we pulled what was left over on the trailer it was such a nice car. We are doing OK just the paperwork is killing me. It will be a while until we are back on track. But until the fire we never knew how much people really care for us. I will always remember Jenniffer who gave me the first shoes after the fire....LOL. How is her knee doing and how is your sons arm?

We are just overwelmed with all the help we are getting. We had no idea how many people care so much about us. It has been a crazy week, the hardest is getting all the paperwork done. Specially for me and Janna who lost all our identifications (Eric had his stuff in his truck). We have to fly all the way to Germany next week to get Janna's student visa again from the US Embassy.
Other than that we are all good, Erics burns and knees are healing well.
I will update the list of people that supported us in a few days.
Thanks again for everyone who helped us so fast to get on with our life's.
