if you do it yourself you can save alot of money. all you have to do is have the cycle shop do the machine work for ya. it cans ometimes cut it down almost in half.

ever think of going with a preformance cam or is it gonna go straight for the big bore?

RideSand
I THINK IM JUST GOING TO GO FOR THE BORE.... IM PRETTY SURE I CAN PUT IT IN MYSELF, AND I DO HAVE A FEW BUDDIES THAAT HAVE DONE IT BOFORE AS WELL....

a good cam and a port/flow of the head will make more power than a big bore kit itself

OK, SO, ME BEING LAZY, DO YOU KNOW HOW MUCH THAT WOULD RUN!?!? MONEY WISE AND HP WISE!?!?

I made two of my 400's into 440's, which included a hotter cam and re-jetting. So mine ended up with a w/b exhaust, k&n, cam, jet, and w/b cdi rev box. They are is definatley quicker and more dunable (is that a word?) but don't expect to win any races against the 450s. For the boring, piston, rings, cam, re-jetting and labor I spent something like $950 on each one. For me, I liked the extra power I got from the work, but I like my 450's better.

I'd buy the pipe, jet kit, and k&n filter, but that would be it. Save your $$ for a new 450 (my opinion.)

Don't do the 440 kit, do the 450 kit...IMO.
