That is a personal preferance. You will get different answers from everyone. Some people will even tell you not to get Skat-Trak. I personally run the new ITP sand stars on my yfz and love them, and they are alot cheaper.

this is sooo true. if you have ridden with paddles go with something you like or have had in the past if you liked those. if you havent ridden w/ paddles then ask a few people what they like and what are good paddles for the type of rider you are and not the type they are. my buddy went with some paddles that he had no experience and bought them before he had a chance to look at my paddles and ask around and now he doesnt have the hook up like he wanted.
ask around at the local shops and try to find what you want... and sometimes prices isnt everything. it might be cheap but why is it cheap? ask that question when you see the "deals"

To answer your main question. The best all round Skat-Trak. I've heard 2 different answers on that. The edge is a V-shape paddle made for duning so you can slide you rear end around and turn easier. The haulers are made for racing (dragging, or hill shooting). I've heard a few people say just put more air in the haulers and they work just as well as a v-shape paddle. I personally don't know if that is true I've never owned any haulers to try that. I've tried many different types and so far I like these new Sand Stars the most. I've tried Sand Skate II, Paddla brat (modified), Gekkos (spelling?), I rode a bike once with haulers but only for a spin, and now the Sand Stars.

PERSONALLY, I HATE RIDING BEHIND SOMEONE WITH HAULERS OR ITPs, AND IF YOU GET THEM, YOU BETTER NOT MIND SPENDING MORE AND MORE TIME IN THE BACK.... WE (ALL OF OUR BUDDYS) ALL HAVE THE SAND SKATE IIs, AND WE HAVE NO COMPLANTS.... MY BIKE MAKES IT UP CHINA MOST DAYS WITH THEM TOO.... I LIKE THE GLIDERS FROM SKAT-TRAK, AND THEY ARE LIKE A HAULER, BUT SHORTER, AND THEY TURNED LIKE THE V-SHAPED TIRES DO ON MY EX.... IF I WERE TO SUGGEST SOMETHING, I WOULD SAY ANY V-SHAPED ONE, BESIDES THE ITPs OR SAND SHARKS, BUT THATS IF YOU WOULD BE RIDING WITH A GROUP IN THE DUNES, NOT RACING OR SHOOTING.... MY 23164 CENTS.... GOOD LUCK

the gliders are for a under powered quad, go with the stars or the skat-trak haulers or v-shaped 1, are you going to be hillshooting and drag racing or pretty much over all duning? if ya just hill shoot and drag race go with haulers, if ya dune and like to play around on the dunes go with stars, they are great i love mine

I have a set of ITP Sand Stars on my Raptor, absolutely love them, not to bag on anyone else but I had a set of Sand Skate II's on it before the ITP's the Skates were falling apart after 1 season, and my buddy had Skate II's on his wifes Z400, they also fell apart after a season, so it wasnt riding style, good luck.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN "FALLING APART?" WERE THE PADLES COMING OFF, OR WHAT!?!? IM KINDA CONCERNED NOW....

they were the V shaped style, where right where the V formed in the middle of the tire. There were big chunks of paddle getting torn off, almost looked like we did burnouts on asphault, but they have only touched sand. I just have had bad luck with them, maybe it was a bad batch who knows, but I bought the ITP's and will never buy a different tire, they are cheaper and hook up better in my opinion, they weigh a bit more, but does a couple pounds really make that big of a difference?

Screamin,
It's funny you say that about Skate II's. Mine did the exact same thing. I thought it was just the pair I had. I wonder if there quality went down hill from the Skate I's. My dad has had a pair of those for about 12 yrs now.

I think I'm going to pay a little more attention when I see somebody with Skate II's, and see what kind of condition they are in. Did you spin to much with the tires also. My traction sucked. I was running 3 psi on my banshee.

I agree 500%. I think these tires are way better. These are the best tires I've been on so far. I run 4 psi if I remeber right.

People who know, me now..........had a craptor since the day they came out. Used four different types and have rode five more types over the years, hands down, no comparison. Its the Sand Tire Unlimited mini desert trakkers (play or comp cut) for recreational dune riding. Not the cheapest, but for sure the best. The few that have had an oppurtunity to ride with them will tell you the truth. They are the best!

They same ones are on mike330r's quad, and I think they have a web site, but the pictures on it dont show cutting or the (play cut/ comp cut) if Im not mistaken the latest addition of Sand Addiction has a story about tires and cutting, I think.

i personally love the sand stars. i used them all last season and have used them at the Cinders in Flagstaff, AZ this summer and the work great. no matter what ur on a hill, or flat ground they hook up. i will be needing new paddles for next season since i ran my stars at the Cinders, so i bought some newer Taller Haulers off of Ebay for 180 with itp rims. i thought it was a smoking price so i bought them to try and if they dont work as good as the stars, then i will get stars again for sure. i can tell u one thing, if u have a high hp or tourque machine like i do(ds650 baja) then i probably wouldnt recommened taller haulers or haulers cause the paddles will get torn right off. i will see if this is true next season.

My sand skate II's are shot after one season as well. I'm switching to haulers for next season, the skate II's are crap for traction.
