Ok guys. Saturday I started the parts swap. I got the new a arms and shocks mounted. But I can't for the life of me seperate the old a arms from the hubs. Any help would be appreciated.
SHOCKER
i think you mean the spindle, yeah thats what i had problems with you have to hit the side of the spindle with a hammer, hit it were the ball joint go into the spindle, get it? it might take a good wack or a few, just be careful and dont hit something like the brake lines or rotor, hit right where the a-arms attaches to the spindle,
Dunegoat
ok. I'll try it tonight. I thought a good whack with a hammer would help
Dunegoat
it seems pretty hard to get a swing with a hammer in that tight space. Any other suggestions? or should I just keep trying? or perhaps just get new spindels?
SHOCKER
Well have you taken off the tie rods? the tie rods are pretty easy just unscrew them from the joint, then you can turn the spindle in diferent ways ya know, you can tur it so ya can get a pretty good wack in there
Dunegoat
yeah i did. They do move alot but the hub or spindle or whatever is only like 5 inches wide where the a arms meet. I'll try again tonight. to be honest when I went home last night I was in a hurry and tried a couple times and then had to split.
SHOCKER
So did ya get it? if ya did do you like it?
rtkelsoe
Well, did you get everything on? How do you like the setup?
Yamiboy
everything you do needs to be gently so dont go ape nuts on the thing. so whne they say hit it with a hammer do it with some force but dont rear back like a normal swing of a hammer.

if that doesnt work try hittin the spindle directly on the end of it where the lock nut goes. all your tryin to do is jar the spindle enough it comes loose. they are on there good so make sure when you put it back on you make sure its snug up there.

good luck.
