Just saw on the news that the largest air tanker in the world the Martin Mars will be landing on Lake Elsinore tomorrow April 23 3-5pm. It will stay overnight refueling. Then take off again tomorrow morning on its way to help fight the fires in Texas. If your around Lake Elsinore around that time it might make for some good pics. I will be around trying to get some pics and will post them later tonight.

Is this the same one that was there a year and a half ago? If so, this thing is huge. It took every bit of the lake to take off. Definately something to see

Is this it..........?
The Hawaii Martin Mars Airtanker is one of the largest firefighting aircrafts in the world, with a wingspan of 200 feet (larger than a Boeing 747). The plane was originally built for the Navy as a long range Bomber between the years of 1945-47. The Navy only took delivery of 5 planes, only two still remain.

Just found out they postponed the flight. It will not be arriving until tomorrow between 3-5pm and then be leaving Sunday morning. I saw the plane earlier today as well and that is not the big one believe it or not that will be coming.

for sure go and see the Mars if you can they are unreal. When the Okanagan fires were happening here in 2003 they were dropping into Okanagan lake in front of my parents house for nearly a week. To watch them you almost wonder if they are gonna fly they are so slow especially after taking on water. The sound they make trying to struggle into the air is awesome. Well worth the time to see some history. The link is to a vid shot south of my parents place that same summer - basically it just shows how huge and slow they are
