A few weeks ago I got a ticket for window tint. Yes, my to fronts are. Not to dark as some but non the less. So I get pulled over in San Pedro area for my windows by CHP. He writes the ticket and on the ticket it says only CHP can sign off on the correction. Is this legal? no were in the VC book does it state that one department has this authority, or is it something that a Sheriff or PD wont do cause its a Police thing?

I'm thinking it might be "sign-able" by the agency that wrote the ticket.
Fer instance: A fix-it written by BLM for off-road lights might not be familiar to a CHP, and therefore (theoretically) you could BS the CHP into signing it off when, in fact, it wasn't fixed.

Yes they can. On the up side CHP doesn't charge for corrections, most PD's do. Down side is your buddy the cop can't sign your ticket off and now you have to take off the tint.

This is correct..............pain in the ass, but you will have to find a shady CHP or peal it off and get it signed off.

3m tint is not cheap......Paying to take it off about $60 then $120 to put it back on and $25 for the correction. A lot more than $100 bucks. But it's the price to play.

The last time I got a ticket for tint, I went to the CHP office to get it written off and the officer at the desk simply asked me if I had taken it off. I had already, and I told him yes. He didn't want to go outside to look at it, he just signed it off.

The court will send you a bill.
Leave it on and pay it.
But keep the ticket handy.. I got pulled over in Brawley and The cop told me he pulled me over for the tint,
I whipped out the ticket and said "I know"
He let me go

That's a good idea, I need to look at the bill and really read it. I know it said pay $25 for the correction.
