Take the money you would have spent on a tattoo and invest it, in thirty years the account will look a hell of a lot better than the tat will.
My idea, just saying.

Not to be a jack ass but a tattoo is forever and if you feel the need to get one figure out what you want dont let a committee do it for you.

That is bad ass. I would say something similar to that with maybe some of your personal touches added in. Would maybe your calf be a better location? I know of a really good artist if you need one. He's a long ways away from you but def worth it. He's in cayucos. He did my wife's first one and it came out pretty awesome.

Pretty sure I have an artist, he just did some work for my brother and his friend. I like this allot but with some less shading...

My $.02........ Dont get color tatts. Just my opinion, but the color will need to be touched up later in life or else it will look bad. Unless you use sunscreen everytime you go out in the sun... I had a color (ball of fire) tatt on the back of my arm. After a couple years, the red and the black outline is all you could see. I did not take care of it, but I didnt want to have to do it either. I now have it covered up with black and grey shades, much better!!

After 14 years my first tat is starting to fade a bit, I had it touched up but the colors don't "pop" anymore.

Just a thought..
I know it's socially acceptable to have tat's showing now but I would seriously think twice about covering a whole arm.
I, as a business owner, would require you to keep it covered at all times.... even in the office.

I know that as Americans we have the God given rite of instant gratification however there are few things sadder than a 68 year old with fading tattoos who HAS to get up in the morning to perform some shiat job to pay for his / her share of the single wide trailer rent and the week's supply of Marlboros. Of course life is short and after all who really gives a fock?

I understand planing for the future and it completely makes since to spend Tattoo money more wisely. But doesn't it also make since to spend sand rail, toyhauler, flatscreen TV, Fake Titty money and divorce costs more wisely as well? If $1,000 dollar Tatto is gonna make or break someones retirment they have a few other issues IMHO.

Spoke with my boss about any issues this would bring up, His opinion is if you act proffessional, due your job correctly and the Tattoo is not offensive what's the big deal? Also Who is gonna say they dont want to do buisness with someone that has a American flag tattoo, further more I would not want to work for someone that has a problem with it..

I'm planning on stay with my company for as long as possible, I also know that nothing lasts forever. But my company has been around for a long long time. So if Edison don't go out of biz I should be ok...

You've been very public regarding your current financial status, I was just trying to throw out a little perspective. In reality I think you should do whatever makes you happy because there is no guarantee any of us will have a tomorrow. As far as tats go I've always been partial to the "Exit Only" tramp stamp.

Very true... The Divorce situation is on it's downhill side and went way smoother than anticipated, I have got 2 promotions this year at work and we just signed contracts for 3yrs. By the time that contract is over a few people will be retiring and if we get the contracts extened I will be getting a big promotion almost doubling my income. Or if we dont get that contract signed I will have enough experience where I should have little trouble signing on with whoever gets the contract or landing a gig at Edison...

Also I have 2 roomates that have thier shit toghter and between them, they pay my mortgage... So things were down in the dumps for a while, but have turned around for the better...

And if the worst does happen I can just call Obama for my unemployment check right?

<- - - currently has a good time laughing at all the surfer dorks who got tats when the whole Modern Primitive thing took off in the 90s. Most are now in there late 30s, fat, balding and can be seen pushing their baby strollers around town with their fading body "art" on display, hinting at the young "tough guy" they once thought they were. Methinks the "bro" kids these days with full sleeves, necks etc are only going to be worse. Hopefully I'll be around to laugh at them to. But to each their own . . .

I for one think the women with visible tattoos are going to look worse than the men. I cant wait to see a 70 year old grandma with full sleeves of black blurryness you cant even make out!

While tattoos have been around for a long time, they haven't gotten really popular until recently (I'd say the past 10-15 years or so). I think the majority of tattoo haters are the older crowd that have been around long enough to know that its mostly just an attention getting device. That's not to say a tattoo cant have a deeper more personal meaning but most tattoos are meaningless attention getters.

I met a younger guy (low-mid 30's) at the lake last year that had sleeves that looked like crap because he had them so long (and he couldnt have had them much more than 10 years). He hated them and wished he didnt have them

I am against Tattoo's as well... Well at least for the next 5 months, this fall I will be getting some more ink, I say F*%K it I have both arms, Neck and moost of my back covered and some love it some hate it but I like it on me and that is all that matters so that is all that should matter to you. But don't get your ink till end of the summer, it helps get a good heal and no sunburn on them for a few months helping lock in the color. To many people get ink in the spring and summer and 2-3 years later the color is totally faded out.
